Several noob questions (easy)?

Answer whichever ones you can/want
1) Firstly, why is everyone so snobbish in Perfect World (that's an overstatement, but generally everyone is too rich and flashy to pay me any mind). For example, if I ask for help from the experienced, they'll sit there and stare at me for like two minutes before dashing off on their panda or enormous elephant. (OK that wasn't a question, but a comment. Read on).
2) So, I'm around level 20 at this point (Wizard) and I've never done a squad run yet. I've barely had a chance to meet anyone because they're in their own world or too high up to talk to me. Am I missing out on anything? Should I be looking for squads at this level to help me complete quests?
3) I know Wizards can have non-combat pets. Are they able to mount and ride pets? Or is that only Venos. (I'm sorry if the question sounds stupid to you).
4) On average, how often is a TW? Do multiple ones occur at once. Do guilds just sit around and do nothing most of the time (cause mine sure does -_-), then leap into action.
5) And probably noobiest Q of all: What are the main differences between a guild and a squad (besides the size of group)?
Thank you, you don't know how much the answers will enhance my experience.

Apparently using bullet points makes the message disappear, sorry for the blank message at first.0

1.My guess is
1)They are using squad/faction filter which means they don't see normal chat
2)They're really not interested with you and are looking at cat shops
2.Not really.Looking for squads for your quests now is optional since you can solo most of them now.Squading together will make quests easier to complete
3.
Info about pets:http://pwi.perfectworld.com/advinfo/pets
Info about mounts:http://pwi.perfectworld.com/advinfo/mounts
The info may be limited there but if you have any questions relating to them, you can ask them.
4.http://pwi.perfectworld.com/advinfo/territory
Again, the info might be limited so you can ask for more details if it's unclear
5.
Faction:http://pwi.perfectworld.com/advinfo/faction
Squad:Up to 6 people squading together.Exp and spirit is shared among members if they are in range.Depending on what settings the leader placed(random by default),drops may be split randomly or given to the person who picked it.If you go offline, you will leave a squad.
Squading is more commonly to do quests/FBs in instances or for bosses.0 -

1. Because that's the way people are?
2. Not really, not at this point. After 40, you'll get a daily quest that asks you to kill certain bosses in dungeons, which pretty much requires a squad.
3. The mountable ones are called, surprise, "mounts", whereas "pets" as just little critters that go arond yourself. Everyone can have mounts and all-class pets, only Venomancers can have combat pets. Combat pets attack mobs.
4. TW happens on the weekends, at most once a week unless your faction owns multiple lands and gets attacked multiple times. However, due to the recent changes in TW, the motivation for people to TW has gone down a lot.
5. A squad is a group of 6 that shares buffs, drops, exp, spirit and quest kills and shows on each others' maps. A guild is a group of 50-200 people who don't show up together anywhere except guild events, TW and the Faction menu.I am Olba. Not Ol, not Baze nor Blaze. And even less would I go by Olblaze. Please, take a second to read a person's username.
If you see b:cute be sure to take a second, calm look at anything I said.0 -
Welcome to PWI!
Best advice: read through all the beginners tutorial posts and wizard class guide posts (they are stickied around these forums just check them all out). They will help answer many of your future questions!
1) Some people are snobby and some arent; its an MMORPG, so its just like a real-life distribution of people. Secondly, many people are in certain forms of chats (guild chats, squad chats, pm's with friends or whatnot). Dont be discouraged! There are always helpful people in this game that come along when you least expect it! I suggest start looking for some friends to do some quests at your level so you form a few buddies to rely on and them on you.
2) Again, do some quests and read up on your character class, etc. Some friends you will make when you are out questing and you help each other out killing X number of mobs or killing for this Y item, etc. Thats how I came to find friends in this game. Now, I pretty much have no space on my friends' list and unfortunately have to make space for new friends til PWI increases the friend list feature.
3) In this game, non-pet classes (everything but veno's) can own non-pet classes (these pets are only for decorations aside from the genie pets which everyone has access to and can use for support skills). But, you are not able to ride them; the mounts you can ride are in the previous post. An odd but interesting feature in this game is the barbarians (the white tiger tank characters can morph into a full-fledged tiger) and female characters can mount those tigers as regular mounts. Also, any male character can embrace (carry) a female character and thus if a male character has wings, they can carry the female character as well. More info on mounts here: Mounts.
4) Territory Wars are weekly events (Friday, Saturday, Sunday). Anyone can TW but usually its the higher level players that survive longer in the fights. TW's are fights between 2 warring factions (80 members vs 80 members). I wouldnt be too concerned about TW at the moment in your case. I suggest that you continue to level a bit til you are higher level and then TW will become very enjoyable as you will live longer in the war; at low levels it can be frustrating being one-shot by higher level players when barely out of the gates of your camp. Territory War information is found here in case you are curious: Territory War. You can also check out some youtube videos by searching "PWI territory war" or some other string.
5) Factions are your home guilds: they are where your allegiance usually lie. You usually have an executive group comprising of a Faction Leader, Director, Marshals, and Executors; the rest are all members. Factions/Guilds range from a Level 1 Faction to a Level 3 Faction. All information can be found here: PWI Factions.
Squads on the other hand, is a group of 6 members (including yourself) which can be made up of fellow faction members, friends, or random people that are working to complete the same quest or quest line. As already mentioned, your Exp and Spirit are distributed amongst your squad and the squad leader can set the item distribution to random (any one can get counted for a particular drop despite not having picked up the item) or self (whoever picks up the item gets the item). I'm sure you can find more information about this if you search a bit deeper.

Thank you guys so much, you don't know how much your replies helped me. And I was in a squad literally right after I posted.
Thanks again (especially gryphynn for your thoughtful answer).0 -
As Gryphyyn said, don't be discouraged! If people don't PM you back it doesn't necessarily mean that they are snobbish or bad. They may be AFK, looking at different chats or not looking at any chat at all (like me when I'm tired) or they simply might not speak English.
When you get to 40 and start doing Bounty Hunter quests you won't get much help from higher levels since they already have enough worries, it is advisable to squad with people who need the same BH/bosses. b:victory (It is not that higher levels will never help with BH but they usually don't... unless they are bored or are really nice people, which reminds me to say thank you Fuzzy! b:thanksb:cute)0 -

As everyone already said, welcome to PWI.
I won't go in to your questions, they have been awnsered already. But I figured I'd point out a couple of underlaying things.
First of all, as you are lvl 20 you have just gotten your call of duty quest. It's your first dungeon, and requires a squad. You mentioned you had just been in squad, I am guessing it was therefor. If not, I suggest you do it asap, as it gets you a verry nice weapon you can use for atleast 10 lvls as reward. Just stand in arch and shout 'LF help with tabbed FB19' and you'll get swarmed by whispers. This is because the tablet (call of duty item) you have received gives all your squad members a reward after the boss dies. You'll get an FB every 10 lvls after this point.
You mentioned you are a wizzy. If you are looking for some in depth info on wizzy (and just ignore this if you know it already), I suggest you go here http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/forumdisplay.php?f=10.
It's the forum for our class, where you can ask all your stuf on how to perfect your wizzy. Remember to use the search function to save yourself some unneeded questions.

LOLOL they're probably in the middle of whispering their friends and in the flood of pink couldnt, didnt get a chance to reply. Trust me, this happens when you have alot of friends b:chuckle

If you want to...I mean. FB19 is pretty hard for a level 20, ijs.
3) I know Wizards can have non-combat pets. Are they able to mount and ride pets? Or is that only Venos. (I'm sorry if the question sounds stupid to you).
Non-combat pets = cute little thing that follows you around. Does absolutely nothing except to look good. You have a companion! And you can. Its called "mounts". Press 'O', you'll find them.
4) On average, how often is a TW? Do multiple ones occur at once. Do guilds just sit around and do nothing most of the time (cause mine sure does -_-), then leap into action.
Uhhh, once per week or so? They may. That depends on their strategy...
5) And probably noobiest Q of all: What are the main differences between a guild and a squad (besides the size of group)?
Squad = temporary. Team. Faction = ....family? b:surrender
Thank you, you don't know how much the answers will enhance my experience.
