Just wondering, can refines be transferred from armor to weapons? I know I have to use the special stone, but I don't want to use a bunch of mirages on a weapon if I can help it.

Yes, they can be... however don't waste your money transferring refines. At your level, you really shouldn't worry about refining anything, and if you do it should only be to +2 or +3 on your weapon only and you should do it without any refining aides.

Transferring a refine costs about 80-90% of what refining a new piece would cost... That 10-20% can easily be recovered by not transferring a refine and instead selling the old piece.

Refine transfers should only be done when converting a weapon to Nirvana. At any other time, it's not worth it.

As far as I know, you can transfer the refine from any gear to any gear (that's refine-able)

You might want to do some research on the cost of using chienkun stones vs. other methods (mirages only, mirages + tienkang, etc...) as they are fairly expensive.

I think people mainly use chienkun stones on Nirvana gear only.

Mainly I'm doing it for the lulz, since i have extra stones and such. I was gonna refine some random equip and then transfer it to the wep on my alt- then transfer every time I get a new weapon. I'm reconsidering that now...

    Sell your chienkuns.

Transferring refines on anything but end-game weapons is a waste of money. In the end you will lose more money transferring than you would just selling the item and refining a new piece.

Unless you have a stack of 1000 Chienkuns, that's going to mighty expensive. If I'm not mistaken, the cost (# of stones needed) to transfer is based directly on the refine amount (say +7) and has nothing to do with the level or type of gear.

So to transfer a +7 refine to any piece of gear would cost the same.

    Am I right?

I have found that the only cases where this might actually be worthwhile is when you are transferring +10 or higher. Even then, it's borderline.

I seem to recall pricing it out once and for the cost in chienkungs to transfer a +5, I could just get orbs and make it +7 instead.
