Besides the stickied stuff is the forum helpful

I posted on the tech support earlier and eventually got some helpful info. The stickied guides seem great, but besides that is the forum useful for anything else?

    Not at all, youll just get your threads locked when the mods dont like where they are going.

    No you know it's true, look through the lower depths and see how many threads you can find that were closed because the mods didnt like them...

    They may be true, but the fact that they do contain stuff the "mods" find insulting / rude / whatever gets them locked, and some of them just aren't worth keeping in the first place because they would simply continue with more and more flames, rage, and QQ.

    Usually pretty helpful actually, if you ask a question you're likely going to have it answered, and generally by other players.

    However as you just saw the replies you receive are going to vary by the mood of the player.

    Also keep in mind that although MOST of the stickies are very good, there might be some outdated information in a few of them.

    If unsure, use the Search function and if after that you have not found your answer then post a new thread. :)

    To a degree, no.

    You'll mostly get trolled by Deceptistar, yashino, Yulk and tweakz. None of those offer any advise, or any relevent data at all, in fact. Mostly just "I R Baboon" type of speech.

    Of course, you'll also be trolled by regular people (i.e. non-idiots) if you post a rather stupid topic or question that's easy enough to find using the search feature.

    All in all, stay out of General Discussion if you want or need help. This is the main feeding ground for trolls.

    Thanks to all who posted, i wondered if anyone would recommend a specific section like the trading post or the suggestion box, but all of your info was appreciated
