Another noob question

1st off thank you for replying to my previous noob questions. It shows me that there is some civilized users out there with the decency to answer a noob question. :)
Now for my next question...

I can't turn off, or get rid of world chat? :( Even after fiddling with the correct options panel for the chat box, so why is not working for me?
Is this some kind of bug? or forced advertisement on us players? 1/2 of the experienced players I talk to in-game say either, A) They could turn off world Chat with the options and their working, or B) They cannot turn off world chat even after configuring the chat box options.
So I'm a bit confused here, :D hehe does it work or not?

    You can get rid of it, you just can't get rid of it from the 'normal' chat. You'll have to pretty much take over another channel for that. I use whisper, and unchecked world and checked everything else. Works the same. IF that doesn't work, then it sounds like a glitch...

    World chat is actually quite useful when people look for squad/members for FBs, Bounty Hunters and challenge quest bosses.

    OK I think I fixed it, I'm in whisper mode, with the system, system, squad, and whisper selected to my favoring. I assume what happened is though on any chat mode, I have world chat on or off, only turning the normal channel off stops the world channel from showing up. The second i turn normal channel on in the whisper mode or any mode, then the world channel comes back. xD
    Anyway, I'm very happy i was able to fix it tyvm for your help. :)

    I agree it has it's uses for players at lvl 30-40. but that's 2-3 worlds away from my world or land lvl. So I rather not be distracted in a fight or quest when not very helpful info appears on screen and/or OOC chat happens. I don't understand why there's not a built in separate channel labeled for each class or race? Along with an OOC, or Out Of Content channel? Wouldn't it be common sense, to use such an organized system?

    ok its good to know that you cant turn off world chat unless you in squad or faction chat thanks guys and gals XD

    You can deactivate world chat but its very usefull on FB'S / BH'S / FB'S..

    I fixed it, if no one's read yet it was a nub mistake, none the less. I'm still learning ty. You gotta love the Abbreviations in-game? lol

    World channel being forced on players has nothing to do with "It can be useful in certain situations", it's just that world chat is something other people pay for, and it would be less attractive to shell out money for it if everyone could just mute it.

    I'll try the whisper thing :-) I know that there's not a lot of "chatting" going on in most MMO"RP"Gs these days, but world chat is extremely pointless.
    Slow progress, game is getting way too grindy :-( Quests I still hope to be able to do some day: FB39, General Feng
