A guy aggro'd a boss and he purposely got next to me and the boss killed me. How did he do that? b:puzzled

    Almost all World Bosses (and even some quest bosses) have nasty aoe's. If you can survive the initial first hit, you can pull a boss who will keep aoeing when he gets close enough to the aggro holder.

    Did it once with Suxerix, when a veno absolutely refused to stop KSing.

    It was Yansheng and I was playing my level 22 veno. He was attacking me, as in hitting with his weapon.

    The only way the boss could directly target you in melee range with his weapon is if you inflicted enough damage to override the other persons initial aggro. Which isn't hard to do if he never physically attacked the boss to begin with.

    One way or another, you're the reason it attacked you with melee.

    If the tank dies, the boss goes looking for other targets. Maybe that happened?

    BTW, pulling a boss to kill other people is bannable, so you could submit a ticket with a screeny off it

    If you were standing down wind "after" it had passed you, and targeted you after it reset, maybe. More often than not, though, the mob/boss will completely ignore you if it resets.

    Exactly the point, by level 50 a person should know how a bosses AOE kills you. Then fact that a level 50 is asking a level 20 noob question is what makes them fail.

    You're absolutely right. I should go kill myself. Lord knows it ain't worth living if I can't own in an mmorpg.

    Yangsheng has an AOE. I believe he's the first boss you encounter (if you do the quests in order) which has one.

    If you don't need to kill him, don't stand near him when other people are fighting him.

    Was your pet in defense? If it was and Yansheng's AoE hit it then it would attack him. If whoever had aggro before either didn't do much damage or got out of range then aggro would switch to your pet and a level 22 pet won't last long against Yansheng. Obviously you'd get aggro after that.

    Either that or you attacked Yansheng yourself.

    I am the OP, but I guess you can be anybody if you change your avatar here. I changed it so you see how much more fail I am at level 64. Enjoy your boasting and patronizing if you must.

    Thank you Xarathox, Sirrobert and VerenKaunis for being helpful. I believe my pet was in defense, yeah. And I honestly didn't know Yansheng had an aoe. It looked to me as if he was hitting me, no sparkly magic or anything.

    I posted this with suspicion that the player was using hacks of some sort so I was wondering if there was a sensible explanation for being attacked before I post accusations. Pity I didn't screenshot.

    I think I remember his AOE being pretty nasty too on an arcane since lvl1. b:surrender

    If one is luring by just running through mobs to grab aggro, and one runs by a casting class in the process of casting...Aggro goes to the biggest threat.

    It's a tactic I used to use when getting KS'd by wizzies, venos, clerics...

    It was your bramble guard (bramble helps to hold aggro), & if the boss got close enough to you to take damage that is why it aggroed you.

    This is why veno should NOT bramble anyone but the tank.
