OK, My ping is constantly 2k-12k and I cant play much longer like this, I've contacted Broadband who tell me my connection speed is fine, My computer is brand new and working fine, I've downloaded and Tried many programmes such as, Game booster, Registry Booster, Spy Eraser, Disk Rescue, SpeedUpMyComputer. I Cannot continue playing with such long delays when other users have 50-200 ping, Please help if possible, Ill post some information below,

Location: England

Computer: Acer,AspireM3621, Intel Pentium Dual core, nVidia Geforce7100

I'm not a Computer pro, so honestly, I have no idea what that means.

    definitely a connection problem somewhere. from england u should be at 150-200 ms D:

    Are you getting so much lag in specific hours?

    If so then it's isp problem, call and tell him the hours your ping is high, have a ss with pingtest too just in case he asks.

    During rush hours, as far as an network technician told me, ISP fails to send the right ammount of power needed for a stable fast connection(not all, just usually small companies or so).
    If you're using more than 1 phone line in your house, try unplugging the cords and leave only router on, should help minimize the issue.

    Also knew that if you changed the serverlist to ip addresses instead of link it supposely makes the ping less. Been long since i last used it though so i don't have them.
    Do a forum search if you're interested in trying that.(Had used it when i had often dcs-helped a lot)

    I can say that my ping test registers fine and since that one patch, my Ping has been ALL over the place and laggy as heck...

    TBH, I know it is not my connection as I have run numerous tests, as well as on my computer.

    Ichi I feel your pain...we have talked about this. I remember when I got to 30k ping in HH and laughed...b:surrender

    Yeah, It just sucks having next to no money and still many goals to reach and without doing nirvana or HH ill never reach them, If i had even 500 ping as my average id be happy, its the fact i have 2k + always and cant solo anything lol.

    If you use wifi - try to connect with cable.
    Also check any downloads/torrents and off all.
    If all still bad, start command prompt (XP: Start -> Run -> enter "cmd" -> OK, Vista: Start: enter cmd in search field), end type in black window:
    pathping 216.52.95.9
    Wait till end and copypaste result here. Do it in moment of your crazy ping in game.

    This is ping just before i d.c for the 20th time today lol, it was at 5k ingame but, it kept jumping from 300-6k every few seconds, the ping wouldnt sit still on a certain number, id be dding a boss fine, then freeze, then unfreeze, then freeze lol. Atm -looks at screen-
    floatiing around 1830 ping and 30 fps

    Could you please provide us with trace routes from your computer to our servers that you play on?

    1) Click on Start > click on Run (or in the Windows Search box)> type in cmd

    2) On this screen type in (exactly as it is typed here): tracert pwieast1.perfectworld.com (You can use any of the IP addresses to our servers that are listed below. Try several.)
    Please note there is a space between "tracert" and "pwieast1.perfectworld.com"

    3) Wait for the traceroute to complete.

    4) Right Click on the window

    5) Select the "Select all" option

    6) Hit "Enter"

    7) You will now be able to paste the text into your reply.

    8) Include in the body of your e-mail what Internet Service Provider you are using and what part of the world you are trying to connect from.

    Not "ping" - type "pathping".
    And for copypaste text press top-left icon (near title of window) - "Edit" -> "Mark".
    Select all text with mouse and "Icon" -> "Edit" -> "Copy".
    Now can paste ;)

    PS: or tracert, yep, but pathping is like tracert but with long time testing of each internet routing.

    PPS: oh yes, and for west servers ip is 66.151.144.80 (216.52.95.9 is for east)

    Yes, try to do it in moment of bad ping. May be few times (thats why pathping better b:laugh). For do not wait "stars" tracert to IP shown in point 11.

    11 is where it reaches our firewalls, and is normal.

    Hop 6 looks like it slows things down for you some.
    Do you need help learning about patching the game, installing it, changing antivirus/firewall settings, changing network settings, learn how to use a computer, keeping your PC maintained and more?

    Ahh, Know of any amazing fix's for such a thing? lol, Playing with 500 ping is fine but when my ping is 2k+ it is actually "unplayable".

    ROFL, ok after running those tests given to me last night, i can no longer access pw, whenever i run the client, it responds with "elementclient.exe not responding" then crashes lol ~___~, so unplayable ping, for a 'now' unplayable game.

    Have you tried uninstalling, going to your C drive / program files, deleting the PWE folder so there's no remains of the game then performing a re-install

    Check you PC for viruses first.
    With this for example http://devbuilds.kaspersky-labs.com/devbuilds/AVPTool/ in safe mode (reboot and before 'starting windows' message press F8 many time -- safe mode in menu).

    Checked with Norton, McAffee, CCleaner, SpyCleaner, SpyEraser
    I run these daily before starting anything and all confirm pc has no viruses or just clogging up my speed T.T

    Ah, ok :) But u can check with Kaspesky too :) Because new viruses very hard to detect.
    Just because overloaded internet channel and strange programs troubles look like virus/worm action.
    Also you can visit this site http://virusinfo.info/index.php?page=homeeng&langid=1 , do all steps from "how to submit" and post result - people there can help you (or if they say 'all clear' - 99% what all really clear :)

    I find that after (like i mean the moment it is 4:01) PM EST my ping will go from 140 - 300

    to 8,000 - 24,000+



    Yet nothing else lags, Only pwi, and funnily enough, only the Lost City server - I have logged onto other servers and had 0 problem - even in arch
