Sins and Shards

So why does every Sin I see ever imbue there equipment/daggers with HP shards?
As a Sin we are squishy, we will always be squishy, and I see no benefits in keeping us alive for maybe what...three more hits? I think it'd be more beneficial to just increase our physical attack and get those kills in quicker. Seems like the smarter way to play, opinions?

And I'm speaking of a PvP 1 STR 4 DEX Sin build.

    You can't kill if you are dead.

    Daggers with HP shards is overdoing it, but not as bad as 9X Sin I saw with G7 sapphire in daggers. Yes, sapphire... it "helps Condensed Thorn" -_-;

    I'm guessing so? Wouldn't upping your Physical Attack be more beneficial in the end? Sins are about 1 on 1 PvP that can quickly kill your opponent before they touch you. Adding Physical Attack seems to be the route to take in my honest opinion. Or is there another shard I'm missing that could benefit us Sins more?

    PvP won't always be 1v1. Domain, Expel etc allows your opponent to get the chance to hit back.

    Of course it won't always be 1v1, but I still think the added HP isn't enough to benefit Sins any.

    If that's what you insist on believing, I won't try to change your view. You'll know how frustrating it is to get one hit by any class later when you level up.

    Garnet doesn't add attack when you add it to armor so your only option to shard armor to increase damage is Diamond of Tigers.

    Yeah but what is the point of sharding your dagger with HP when it could be attack? I should of been more clear on that.

    Rarely anyone does this. 95% of the players (all classes) use sapphire/garnets in weapons.

    Oh, I thought you mean armor and daggers both. Yeah daggers should be sharded with garnets while armor generally sharded with hp at mid level 7X-9X.

    From what I have seen most lvl 80-90s have sharded HP onto there daggers.
    But I guess that is a good indication there clueless to what there even doing then?

    As for armors etc, IDK what I'd shard onto those. I guess HP is the only way to go, heh?

    idgi to be honest. I'd up my phy. atk over the added HP any day.

    So let's get this straight, level 8x-9x sins with 3-4 hp gems in their daggers? And you think you should just put all attack gems in your armor even though this is only possible with relatively expensive diamond of tigers?

    Why do you hope this is a troll? Do you think sharding your Daggers with +40 HP is smart? Then you're clearly a scrub. Phy. resistance to the armor + atk shards to daggers seems to be the best route, if you disagree, explain why rather then posting random BS in my topic.

    He's hoping that it's a troll because weapons cannot have more than 2 sockets and you've already claimed to see people with 3-4 sockets on their weapons.

    As for sharding armor with Garnets for phys defense, that's not optimal for two reasons:
    1. Not all attacks are physical.
    2. Resistances hit diminishing returns quite fast.

    The first means that adding Citrines, which add to your life, is better, as all types of damage is taken out of your life. The latter means that eventually you'll have to shard with very high level gems to get any kind of a real effect.

    Though yes, for endgame, the best shard for your armor is the +10 vitality stones. They happen to add a lot of life and +phys resistance. But that's mainly because of the insane cost of Stones of Gaea, at 6 Citrines Gems each. That's gonna cost you multiple of those +10 vitality stones, only for 20 more life.

    I'm just ganna go and be serius about this.

    If you don't shard hp in your armor as a sin, what do you shard?
    Phys/mag def? You'll get deminishing returns, so hp is better (and works on both type of attacks)
    Ambers? Evasion end game is more random than anything else in here, so useless
    Turqoise? That's pro, add to your mp pool to use 1 more skill before having to use a potion (That was sarcastic)
    Elemental shards? Same with deminishing returns, and they only benefit 1 element. That's not ganna help you anything unless you only fight veno's (who only have wood magic).

    And here we ran out of options, untill you throw in end game shards (which cost a fortune and can only be used in grade12 and up gear).

    So I gues it comes down to only 1 option, citrines.
    And btw, that 300 hp might be just what you need to survive the kill shot from your enemy and kill them instead.
    O, and a higher hp pool also helps your charm, and helps prevent 1shots

    No you missed it; he's not questioning HP sharding...he's questioning HP sharding A WEAPON.
    As for what you'd also shard a Sin's armor with, I suppose you could use evasion shards. I've done this, but, it doesn't really do much.
    There's also the possibility that these people don't care about proper bonuses, they just want certain shards because of the glow it gives. Don't MP def. shards give the electricity glow? I've seen an 8x sin before fully decked out that way.
