IS PWI going down hill?

After the recent patches, almost impossible 3-1 bosses, perfect horns, increased rubber banding, dead of TW (on dream weaver anyway) , revival of duke message spam, cut of price of dragon orbs, reduction of drop rate in general and TT, devos who don't care, glitches which have been around since the start of the game i.e. the mob that gets stuck in between rocks in 59, the very glitchy and unclear wedding system and the horrible, horrible, horrible bidding hall spam red messages.
Some of the things in that list are a lot more serious then others, I'm going to put up a a poll and see what you guys think is happening to the game in general.

I'm going to say yes, for us old players though.
Bidding Hall spam is pretty bad, but for the most part, we can manage. Duke messages are definitely not needed, why the heck do we need to know that some person got a lucky item? Can a GM explain the logic on that?
As for the new players, I think most enjoy the game, up until lvl 90 or so, then it becomes all about the $$$$$$.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

This poll won't really show that much. There are four kinds of players in this game right now:
- The old players who are very unhappy with the changes being made to the game. I would be one of these players. We look back six or seven months and we remember the game to be better. We look back a year and remember the game to be better still. Sure, the game has always had it's problems, but recent changes are mutilating this game beyond the realms of decency.
- The new players who are very unhappy with the changes. Be it because they now struggle to farm what they need or because the community just isn't the same, even new players have come to the forums and complained about the state of this game. This would be a sign of warning in my mind, if you have new players or a great number of players who charge zen coming to your doorstep and saying they aren't happy.
- The old players who cash shopped or merchanted their way to the point nothing is this game is impossible for them. They like the monopoly, and they fully support it. And why not? They're greedy **** who already have what they need; they're now only looking to further benefit only themselves. Many of this people have become far more obvious with changes to TT, where their attitude has been "It's not too difficult, because I can do it. Everybody else who can't should just buy from me, because I can."
- The new players who really are new to the game and don't understand why others are complaining. This to them is how the game is and always was, in their mind. They don't need to adapt to anything, because this is now the first thing they see.
Me? I'm unhappy with the community and the game. I'm tired of seeing heavy cash shoppers and super merchants sitting here supporting the bugs that made TT 3-x too difficult for those meant to farm it, because it supports a monopoly that would only suit them at the end of the day. I'm tired of seeing patch after patch introduce new bugs into this game that then don't get fixed, even after plenty of details have been given to GMs in regards to the bugs. I sometimes question whether GMs really relay anything to the devs at all, and if they do, the devs certainly don't care.
I'm also tired of seeing the QQ about the QQ about the QQ about the QQ etc. etc. People are going to complain. Stop complaining about the people complaining. Because that just makes you one of the people complaining meaning you may as well direct that huge "stop QQing" thread at yourself.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

seriously cudnt of said it better then that, i fit into the old players category, been playing pw for 4-5 years, and its just turned into a hell hole, the rubber banding was introduced to stop *some hacks* apparantly, what hacks? jump ****? problem is, even running forward causes rubber banding, so no, it wasnt a feature by devs to stop hacking, it was a bug that these devs, that shud of been FIRED 2 years ago, still have a job...why do they still gave a job b:angry[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I'm in this group of people, but minus the bit about thinking this is how the game always was. I adapt because I been through worse than this.
There are things I understand and do not understand about the recent changes.0 -

Wrong !. By lvl 60 + is game over with coins. I have a fish in lvl 60 + and without my cleric coins, i would '' dream '' about lvl 59 skills, good armor,TT 60 ?, yeah ....dream on and if i would be a newbie and like the game, by lvl 60 + i would do it as most of them are doing it > start>control panel>programs>deinstall.0 -
im just waiting that FW starts gona take few months tho but its okee0

There have been numerous posters who have said PWI is going downhill since I first started playing. One thing that surely isn't going downhill is a person exaggerating a game going downhill merely because they are, personally, fed up with things, or merely against specific changes made. Surely, I don't like the recent changes made, but if one truly thought the game was this far downhill, why the **** are they still playing? Without a doubt, I wouldn't make myself play a game I thought was actually going downhill, nor would I be constantly making posts on their forums. Just saying.0

after lvl100 ive only log in to chat with ppl...theres no goals in this game i still have tt90 set cuz i dont need tt99 in PvE server ive played since closed beta and took almost 2yrs to get lvl100 tho ive quited 3 times..if they raise lvlcap some day i will start play again0 -
I see the game going downhill overall.
Personally, I still enjoy the game to a certain extent. I make it fun for myself, enjoying FC runs that go well, running instances for BH, and just chatting up with all the friends I made. True, I always hated the market and monopoly merchanters create, but I try not to let all that cash shop craze get to me. I play at my own pace and find fun for myself.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I'm not happy with a lot of the changes that have been made to the game, not because they affect me, but because they're just bad game design. I play a lot of boardgames, and over the past decade or so there's been a huge resurgence in the boardgame community thanks to a new generation of game designers realizing that well thought-out rule design is more important than anything else.
PWI, however, just relies on sales/promotions/and the tried-and-true system of progressively adding slightly better and better items to keep the game going. They don't actually improve the game to keep it fresh, they just change it up a bit. That's better than nothing, but it's still disappointing.
Perfect World is still a very good game when compared to the competition that is out there, but it could be a fantastic game if the people in charge were a bit more competent in what they're doing with it.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

The moving of this thread has to be the most shallow thing I've seen from mods and/or GMs in a while.
It wasn't even about the GMs or the mods. Really. Good game, this move was the biggest fail you've done in a while.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
