so in rank (IX) 9 armor the absolute best armor in the game now?
what about the rank 8 weps?

    hmm the answer is yes, if rank 8 was better than 9 what would be the point of spending 10000+ more dollars on useless junk

    I prefer rank 8, simply because it's got more utility than just adding raw power.

    The rank 8 tops for archers and assassins also have -0.1 interval which the r9 top doesn't have, which is probably the only case of r8 being better than r9.

    For the other parts r9 is much better because of the set bonus and the legs/bracers that have -interval/channeling.

    Edit: And yes, TT/lunar/nirvana have nothing over R9 armor.

    Sins are Scissors. Psychics are Rocks.
    Archers, Venos, Barbs, Wizards, BMs, Mystics, Seekers are Paper.
    ...and Clerics are Mushrooms.
    Paper beats Rock. Scissors beats Paper. Scissors also happens to beat Rock...until Rock gets 50k+ soulforce at which point Rock becomes an unstoppable killing machine that beats Paper... and would beat Scissors but it can't find Scissors, because Scissors are invisible.
    So Scissors beat Paper and avoids Rock, and that is called BALANCE. -cheze

    Rank 8 = you get -.01 interval on your hits, which on my own experience tends to rise your damage output by 15-20%

    Rank 9 = brute, crude and simply rises your attack power by 80% (per piece)

    It's what the encyclopedia said before r9 was released.

    The actual stats are way different though.

    yeah good thing it turned out to be bull in the end.

    Only the set bonus gives att/def levels (30 att/20 def when full), which is still very nice.

    for BMs and Assassins they don't get the -int they need to get the full set so for those 2 classes I'd say no, but a 5.0 barb in full rank 9 ohhhh eemmmmm geeeeee OP OP OP :D

    It doesn't matter which is better.

    it's a pipe dream. By the time anyone gets a full set of Rank 9, the game will have died. Or they could have bought a vacation house in several different countries.

    Each piece of rank 9 takes roughly the same amount of chips as a warsoul weapon (320k). Plus 3 weeks of owning the entire map or buying the reward from the faction that does.

    There are 7 pieces of rank 9.

    Therefore, full rank 9 costs (roughly) 7 times as much as a warsoul weapon.

    As of right now, as far as I know there's 1 warsoul on LC, HT, and sanc, after 2 years.

    Even assuming wealth of players rises geometrically, it should still take around 6 years for 1 person per server to get full rank 9. (1/2year, 2/4year, 8/6year).

    Will PWI be around in 6 years? I doubt it. Michael actually has a pretty solid base for saying that.

    Note: I realize I'm being ridiculously simplistic and if you wanted to actually calculate this it would look fairly different, but this is a rough estimate using what I know as of right now and 20 seconds of thinking about it.
    HT clerics at their finest:

    hari: can you do mdef debuffs? makes the fight go faster
    naughty_x: waste, I do more damage without them
    hari: ...you do more damage in 2 seconds than reducing mdef by 35% for 4 casters does in 20 seconds?
    naughty_x: is waste, i do more damage

    hari: 3-3 BH goes a lot faster with a sin
    naughty_x: no, only a difference of like 3 minutes
    hari: ...we've been in here a lot longer than 3 minutes already

    R8 is nothing but 200k rep and a few mil to buy the equips, sure it ain't a piece of cake but it's doable.

    R9 is 300k rep, ~3,2bil in coins per piece (must have the ring before you can get equips) + 3 TW badges of which only 1 gets generated each week per server.

    Simply put, r8 is NOTHING compared to full r9.

    Honestly i don't like rank 9,well yes it's uber equipment but as interval oriented assassin i don't find it very usefull. Look like was made for damage per hit assassins, and i'm not that. If i really could manage to use all that coins i prefer to get rank8 + full interval gear and take it to +12.
    Rank 9 it's a waste (personal opinion)
