Question about base stats and non base stats

Ok I am pretty sure I know what build I am going for. The kind for the barb where its just str and dex as needed for gears and rest stacked in vit.
My question is that when you need stat requirements for armor/weapons does it go by your base stats or go by the green(added) stats?

By your current stats, so it goes by your green stats if there are green stats. However, you can't replace an equip which adds to a stat so that is the prerequisite for the new equip.
For example: You have 5 base (white) str. You have currently equipped weapon A, which adds 3 str, bringing you to a total of 8 str (green). You wish to equip weapon B, which requires 8 str. You cannot do this, as this would take away your 3 str from weapon A, rendering you unable to equip weapon B.
Example 2: You have a necklace that adds +2 str. You have a base of 5 str. Weapon C requires 7 str, so you can equip that as your total str (green) is 7 str.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
But dont you also get a lot of str and dex bonuses from all the equips you can have when you get to high levels?0

What I said there was purely theoretical. The point was as long as you don't replace an equip providing the stat you need for the next equip of the same type (e.g. a hat with another hat), you should be fine equipping the new item.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

Dex and Str bonuses from equipment is nice, however, it would be great to have a sufficient base of points in case you switch equipments, like TsarBomba said.
I do think that you do want to save free points because you want to have as much potential vitality as you can.
However, you got to be really careful doing that, because if you remove the gear with the bonus that actually allows you to wear another part (the one you want) and got no spare points left, the latter will turn red and you will not be able to use it anymore (unless you put the equipment part back)... This would force you to use outdated stuff.
It's quite a dangerous mistake and it happened to me. I had to level up twice to have more spare points to distribute, and finally solve this part.
Cheers.Maintenance time. Please choose a line:
