Banned for logging in at an airport??

My husband's account became banned this afternoon when he logged in from the airport. He had been able to log in at home previously just fine. He has also done things with the game from work before, too.

He of course can't get to the forums, so I'm asking questions on his behalf.

The email he received stated that he was either in a banned region or logged in via open proxy. What the heck is open proxy and how would someone know they cannot log in from an airport because of it???

Sounds like someone didnt read the terms and conditions.

(I dont believe it actually states anything about proxies/blocked countries. However, PWE is entitled to ban anyone at will. Banned regions are regions that have their own version of perfect world. Like China.)

You should not be banned for attempting to log in from a banned region. It will most likely show a sorry, we are unable to provide you service blahblahblah. I tried logging in to the forums from China and was shown this message. I was not banned. This means that your husband was using an open proxy.

    See wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Open_proxy

He works at the airport in Phoenix, Arizona, so he was hardly in a banned country.

See open proxies then. Also.. should he really be playing PW while working?

And how is one supposed to know that the server they are logging into is open proxy? Wouldn't you think they'd give a warning or something instead of outright banning the account? I mean seriously.. If they don't accept that sort of server, then put up a message that says, You are attempting to log in from an open proxy or banned location. You don't just ban the account. That's ridiculous.

And now he has to wait until someone decides to respond to him.
