I only want help with my culti bosses, fbs and the non fb or TT bosses from my wraiths ploy
the rest I don't feel like asking for since people have better things to do
And I always thank people for the help I got even if it was simply duoing a normal mob quest which I could easily have soloed

I help with pretty much any boss that isn't very easy to solo, fbs, cultis

I don't help with dailies(bh included), normal mob quests, pretty much anything thats optional or just so easy you should be able to solo it no matter what your class is

I used to be very helpful on either my wiz, or my sin... what really was the last straw for me was when a former guildie asked for healing help on killing the wicked pirate.

Hopped on my wiz for the customary 2 kills, then was greeted with "Ok, there's the 2 I got from the chest. Only have 60 more now."

    *click exit game*

One thing in general I did notice was that there used to be chatrooms dedicated to helping people with fb's, bosses, etc. That, or you'd see wc's galore about this or that faction helping with people's fb.

I've played on multiple servers, and they all had that sense of community a little over a year ago. Not sure which is more to blame. The newer crop of players who whine incessantly about getting someone to help them power level, or the jaded older players who just assume anyone hitting the 'Create' button within the last 6 months is just some oracler who isn't worthy of guidance.

meh.. it's a game, not gonna lose sleep over it.

alot of newer players these days rely on other people for help....

Newsflash, in case you haven't noticed. Nobody solos FB19 at lvl 19. Beyond that, cultivation bosses start skyrocketing their damage beyond soloing quite soon. There are quite a few boss quests along the way that's are just optional, but they are there. If you want to do them, you have to get help.

Perfect World requires you to get help for quite a few things, unless you don't mind not getting any progress. I haven't unlocked the Old Heavens Tear thingy. I have limited cultivation, therefore limited skills available. FB29 was the last FB I completed. I haven't seen most dungeons. Most of my boss quests expired. I have no uber gear. Even my Tideborn quest chain is stuck at General Feng (which is particulary stupid since the guy has NOTHING to do with the story, it's just a revenge mission).
Slow progress, game is getting way too grindy :-( Quests I still hope to be able to do some day: FB39, General Feng

A long time ago (when PWI wasn't screwed up) i walked in the western district of Archosaur and i asked for help i would get very much PM's.

Now my question is where did the nice and helping people go?
Nowadays i have to consume a couple of Trumpets(Teleacoustics) to get help with a BH.
Sometimes i think that the only way to get help, is to say this:

    FB.. Free wines need help!

What the hell happend to the helping people?
    It's a trend I think.

    And I help with them...

Yindra I could help you with your fbs up to 39... I can solo them all..hell you can do that yourself(you dont need herc) And also, I can relate to your situation. ..I can get some help from friends too and if not well, **** it, we'll just have to try.

Yindra - (if your stats are right and you have a decent tank pet) you should be able to solo up to fb51 easily. I'd think the two of you could solo 59 easily.

Just for the record I solo'd my own fb89, at level 89. Amazing things are possible.b:victory

Well I've got lucky and found a nice helpful faction, so I'm up to date on my fbs. But yeah for a long time, I couldn't get help. I don't blame these attitudes, but it sucks that others have to suffer because of ungrateful people.

That amazes me if people have a hard time finding help for fb's. I always jump at the chance.

Mainly I was trying to give Yindra some perspective on what should be easily do-able at her level, provided her stats are right, her gear is adequate and matches her build, and her skills are leveled. Just trying to help b:victory

Because the people being helped never step up and help in return, they're just selfish.

Common sense, if high levels help for 2 months straight, those helped should turn around and help for 2 months as well. Non-stop helping in pyramid scheme fashion.

But they don't. When they need help, get the high levels to do it. When the lower levels need help, get the high levels since they can do it faster/better. It's just non-stop BS excuses people use to get what they want, while giving nothing in return.

The fault is on the mid-levels who became high levels through the work of others. They didn't help themself, what makes you think they'd help someone else?

anyways, i used to help a lot, but i kinda stopped when i stopped getting thank yous, or the people just wasting my time (taking forever to get there, going afk, like they dont even appreciate that theyre getting helped). Though, i do still occasionally help out, and there is the rare person that says "thanks so much! thanks thanks" and that just makes me smile. but most the time, its just, when finished, they just leave the party ._.

A couple of days ago i met a cleric around lv 90 who said that she once helped alot of people. Then she said that she stopped helping people because they didnt thank her after she helped them. It made me pretty sad because because now PWI had lost another good and helpful cleric because of that.

players, like my family, used to get have our fun out of helping other people, making up squads to help them do their FBs and whatnot. (i doubt anyone here remembers the good old days when people used to hang around FBs, hoping for newer players to come along, so we could both help out and get the reputation...). but with PWI making this one of the most expensive game to play, with all their gambling packs, and high costs on simple necessaties, people such as my family are having to search elsewhere for anothher game, one that does not entail opening wallets and purses before agreeing to help out.

too much real money needed to play a game=games death.

I have been playing this game for a long time now and i was there when people where hoping for someone to ask for help. I was pretty much of a noob back then, i used to think that reaching lv 19 is very difficult. When i did my first FB19 i got helped by one of the best factions back then. That faction was called Legacy. Nowadays i don't think that i'll ever see some Kylin members hanging around any FB19 dungeon to help at all.

I watched this game slowly coming to his end...

FB19 incentives aren't great. That's why some people don't want to help with it. I don't really do FB19 because I don't know my way around.

19 and 39 are the only 2 I odn't do. 39 because it gives me a headache, all the other ones, feel free to PM me in-game xD

I agree. I'm in a big faction that recruits 70+ people, currently at 189 members. There have been plenty of people who ask for help with BHs/TTs/frost. Make a TT squad and announce that you got level 100 barb tanking. You will get enough pms to make two full squads or even a bit more. Make a normal TT squad with 8x barb tanking and you barely get enough people to join to make one squad.

People expect high level players to hold their hands through the game. It's kinda sad, but it's getting to that point now. Of course, half the high level players don't know how to play their class because they...well, you know the main offenders. (Oracles/Hypers, blah blah blah.)

I've also noticed that players level too fast to get the knowlegde they need in the higher levels. Now with the 2x EXP/Spirit it wil be too easy to level in this game. Cause i leveled from 40 to 54 in less then 1 week.(I know that because i still had my lv 40 supply stash mount at lv 54)
The end of PWI is getting closer and closer so i think its best to get hypers off the game.

People seem to assume because I am a cleric, I chose my class because I wanted to "help people"

Never was the case, never will be the case.

But for most part, why should factions sit around helping people level, and do tedious grind quest, to later watch them run off and let an already established faction reap the benefits of your labors?

I dont think anything happened to them.I think they just changed alot.I still help people when I can if it is possible. I notice people only want to help if the get something in return. For example FBs. Most only help for the rep from what I can seeb:bye. I need the rep to but I help just to be helpful.

I sometimes still help with the odd low lvl BH/request if wine is free, or when I have nothing better to do.

Unfortunately most of the people I help end up either being ungrateful (not even saying thanks), complete noobs, or worse - start asking for help on a daily basis, like I'm some sort of "make PWI super easy mode" button.

Also, a year or so ago many people farmed rep and exp from FBs - this generally made the community closer knit. These days there are far better ways to get exp and rep than helping lower levels do their FBs.

I made a cleric once a long, long time ago. I made it to help the people in need, IF they could say please and thank you. But i quitted my cleric because it seemed like people demanded me to heal them. I, ofcourse, told them to .... off and die if you can't say please.
You want to know what happend? I think you already know that, they PKed me just because i said say please and i'll help. My cleric was a pretty good character so if people werent so rude that character would probably be around lv 100 by now.

The problem is that the nice ppl who played PWI before went to other games (or just to other server). Of course PW can be boring for a 100 + , and getting a bh squad or something can be very difficult when everyone uses oracles and hyper exp stones.
Its the same with world chat, in past the ppl who were spamming in the worldchat , what was annoying too btw, were some players who had experience and knowledge. Today every1 is spamming in world chat. But dont believe if you get some1 of them in bh/tt group they would now how to play or even help the squad b:lipcurl
Well i usually do helping when i can, but this depends on the person who wants help.
just try to find a nice faction and try to become a more helpful player than the other guys who just care about their oracles

I barely got like 20 mins in the game today, so far, due to spending time with the significant other (only posting here on my iPhone) -- guess what I did with my 5 APS level 101 bm? I helped some random world chat squad with a BH59 chain and grabbed Nirvana keys.

There are plenty of decent people I see helping lowbie BH's and even still at the usual mines area where nubs tend to congregate. The only thing I've seen is, due to packs/tokens becoming so highly prominent, and hypers keeping people in frost, there are less folks helping with FBs for rep/xp (hence why you rarely see chat rooms on HT anymore), there are less folks helping others with rebirth.
