My view on PWI's economy

not replying to the lame character assassination (disinformation technique)
You seem to be missing the point of what character assasination is, i was responding to your very punctual claims about what goes on in veno forums and your characterization of those of us who post there. It's a very different thing than trying to argue that who you are makes you wrong. Faulty logic once again...Not any easier than for Wizards which I happen to have one of (Lvl 88). b:chuckle
So Venos don't have it any easier than other Arcane classes with skills that require little mana to use and Soul Transfusion+Metabolic Boost/Nature's Grace? Really? Any Wizzies care to weight in on this? How about Clerics?I think you answered that one.b:chuckle
That you don't have to nickel and dime on genie skills? Yes, i quite think i did. You're a loser piece of poo to make such faulty implications. If you had a point to make in your wall of text: you berry it in character assassination. I don't even use a pet in BH Warsong until the boss, and I do most of the tanking there dumb ****. When I solo in Eden, I'm debuffing then killing most mobs w/o healing the herc. When I'm farming VoS I'm taking aggro of 7 assassins off the Herc once they're rounded up. Of course you already know this stuff, you're just here to trash talk.
Piece of poo? If you're going to resort to insult at least do it like a man. Once again, you made claims about veno forums which i believed wrong and decided to set thet the record straight. No, it wasn't character assasination but responding to charges unjustly made. And about such faulty implications, weren't you precisely making the very claim that herc'ed venos learned to better use the skills using precisely this example? If there's more to high levels than healing an herc aren't you contradicting your thesis that unherc'ed venos are useless? That's funny. The people that do agree with points I've made do so reluctantly. Why? Because the weak minded bullies and thugs like you just like to stir up endless nonsense. Some just turn to PM'ing me rather than dealing with you asses.
Bullies and thugs? Lol, but aren't you the one that shows up in threads calling everyone a fail if they don't play exactly the way you believe to be right? Aren't you the one that dismisses the ideas and experiences of others? Seriously, haven't i been the one to admit to your being right, publicly and to your face, when you have posted information and not abuse? And when have you ever done the same? When have you ever apologized or admitted you were wrong? If anyone thinks i abuse them by all means feel at ease to tell me and if i may have overlooked your feelings or opinions i will apologize. Or send in a ticket, be at least brave enough to stand for the welfare of the forum comunity if you feel the same as Tweakz.
I'm far from perfect but i do try to be fair. That i disagree with, or even flame, someone in a thread doesn't mean i won't wholeheartedly agree with them on a different thread if i believe them to be right. You see, many times i've called upon you to express your opinion without disdain or contempt for others and always i've read your points before answering without dismissing your opinions out of hand. Obviously any respect shown you is wasted, but i'll continue to do the same because i do respect myself. Now, i wouldn't expect you to admit it was a cheap shot to dismiss in offensive terms other people and their ideas, much less COWARDLY. This thread is about the economy and your opinions of other posters and their thought on different subjects unimportant to people reading it. Especially as you seem to have made it a point to pick a fight in here as well you obnoxious little troll...0 -

Wizards have wellspring quaff which makes the wizard's mp pool about 2x what my veno's is. They have Glacial Embrace which increases MP recov by 10 per sec. They recover plenty of MP just by sparking. I don't play on my wiz much, but when running BH's, TT's, etc the MP rarely goes below 90%. -Not so with my veno..Piece of poo? What does having a pen is have t o do with it?Once again, you made claims about veno forums which i believed wrong and decided to set thet the record straight. No, it wasn't character assasination but responding to charges unjustly made.
Instead of making any points: you trashed my character. That is a weak rebuttal. If the information was wrong: you could have contested it. Instead you resorted to cheap shots that have no real bearing. And about such faulty implications, weren't you precisely making the very claim that herc'ed venos learned to better use the skills using precisely this example? If there's more to high levels than healing an herc aren't you contradicting your thesis that unherc'ed venos are useless?
Where did I say unherc'd venos were useless? Why do you waste my time on bogus claims? You're an just a character assassin. What game company do you work for?Be kind: Help the GMs to depopulate the servers.0 -

1) a lot of the QQ'ing is likely from other game company employees, the rest are probably pan handlers in real life also.
2) there's no need to cheat. PWI is very good to their non cash shoppers, but I'd feel ripped if I was a cash shopper for their lack of bug fixes and introduction of new bugs.
Any time there are winners, there are going to be losers. Any time there are losers, there's going to be denial. Any time there's denial: there's going to be a scapegoat. In this case it's PWI's economy which is fine for most of us who are actually playing the game.Be kind: Help the GMs to depopulate the servers.0 -

I'll readily admit not to having much experience when it comes to Wizards although i have heard quite a few comment on how they would love to have veno's Soul Transfussion and Nature's Grace. I'll take your word for it and stand corrected. However i have played a Cleric long enough to realize what an advantage easy MP management is for venos. I do believe my point stands. What does having a pen is have t o do with it?
Being a man is a very different thing than just being male. Figure it out...Instead of making any points: you trashed my character. That is a weak rebuttal. If the information was wrong: you could have contested it. Instead you resorted to cheap shots that have no real bearing.
I contested what claims you made about posters in the veno forums and their ideas, it wasn't a rebuttal of your point as it pertained the ongoing discussion but of your cowardly remarks concerning the character of others. I would hardly consider stating the truth trashing your character, that job you have taken upon yourself.Where did I say unherc'd venos were useless? Why do you waste my time on bogus claims? You're an just a character assassin. What game company do you work for?
Haven't you made such a point again and again? Haven't you called unherc'ed venos fail? Haven't you even go so far as to claim they have no place in high level squads? Seriously man, rather than go back through your posting history why don't you simply state your opinion on the issue for the record, i'll take whatever you say to be your "official" position. And as you well know i have a long memory...
As for your game company question, come on, are we getting paranoid with age? I've been on record here on general forums defending PWI against what are not entirely baseless accusations. Given your long record of continuously shooting down what opinions or contributions don't agree with your narrow minded view of PW and gaming, i would even go as far as to say you have likely lost this company more customers than a paid professional would have accomplished in the same time frame. b:chuckle0 -

Here's how ya do it like my (man?) tweakz:
1. Get urself a time machine. Go back to when in-game gold was 90-100k a piece and the cash shop didn't have packs
2. Lose all forms of communication with the outside world. Grind until you forget what year it is and you give up on making it to the bathroom.
3. Make sure you can keep a second pc on for vending useless junk 24 hours a day. If you have a battery powered laptop, you're screwed XD
4. Get homeschooled like tweakz did and make sure you're anti-social, apathetic, sociopathic, intolerable, rude, crass, unlikeable and severely unskilled in your class of choice. Speaking of class....
5. Make a veno. Even if you detest the class, you should wanna be like tweakz so go ahead, being a sorry excuse for a caster healing behind a pixel pet is fun, try itb:thanks0 -

Ohh... I see what's going on here now very clearly! Another game company has sent people to disinform here and lead them to their own game! This kind of thing was going on about 15 years ago when I think it was EA that was hiring people to manage upwards of 50 forum accounts to sway the perceived opinion of their games. I'm surprised the GMs are tolerating this ****. b:chuckle

Whoa, so many pages, altho most of them are flaming, i read the good replies tho, and about plenty of ways to make money... well i think i got'em all covered on the main post but here they go again:
-Nirvana: harder to run with the new AOE seal and random aggro, plus it's open for players at least lvl 100 and you need decent gear in order to survive in there so you need starter money to get there, where to get that starting money?
-TT: prices keep going down and don't seem to rise anytime, never thought i wouldn't be able to sell dust of devil for 500k a piece, also depends on everyone else having coin, if there's no money to begin with what are people buying your goods with?
-Grinding: equip drops are rare and DQ items were nerfed 20% and seemingly also nerfed in amount dropped, since now at least i am getting less DQ drops, i don't know everyone else maybe it's just me the unlucky one, repairs/mana often eat up to 50% your earnings if you're not a veno (pet doesn't need to be repaired and if you have a tome not even fed, also spells are very cost effective)
-Merchanting: probably the only method left, however not everyone wants to spend 3 hours staring at the AH looking for bargains or check every catshop in west archo, we want to play the game
-Farming mats: mats (common abreviation for materials, and we understand those as charcoal, sandstone, wood and metal in all their variants up to special kind) are used for 3 things: making legendary gear, making wines for instances and making ultimate substance or essence of nature; now making legendary gear doesn't take a lot of mats, probably 15 of each which can be farmed in half an hour or less, and it's a 1 time use so you can't rely on legendary gear to keep mats useful; now wine, ultimate substance and essence of nature can be made with tokens at a much more cost effective ratio, so as a direct result mats are almost at NPC price, since people will only buy if they're cheaper than making the wine/US with tokens, therefore farming mats has became less than half the profit it used to be
-Farming herbs: some of us are too lazy to farm lower level herbs ourselves and buy them, i agree on that, however the higher grade ones are stupidly easy to farm, there are just so many spots full to the brim with herbs on hell that they almost jump to your bag on their own, moreover you can expect max 1k profit from each herb since there are so many competitors and you can't really sell for more, plus as i said they're stupidly easy to farm and most people will just pick their own; yes i know you can make higher level apothecary pots and sell them, however there is one, max two factions on the server that can make the legendary pots everyone wants, what does everyone else do?
And about the best luck tokens causing inflation, well it's really simple: two best luck = 10m coins, therefore generate in-game coin using exclusively real life cash, before packs if you wanted to get cash for your gold you had to rely on someone else having farmed that cash for you, therefore the game was balanced, with packs people can just buy a crapload of packs and make new in-game currency without the need of it being farmed by any player, they're basically buying in-game coin for real life cash, that's why inflation comes
Oh about setting shops and playing less i'll agree with pretty much everyone else, what am i supposed to sell on my shop? NPC gear for more than what the NPC charges in hopes someone wants it? if i want to make money i have to get goods somewhere, that means: duh! play the game!Originally Posted by frankieraye: To say that would be a lie, because in regards to the DQ problem, it's something that we're honestly still working on, and something that we believe we can fix.

Can a GM perm ban the VERY obvious troll?I don't care how old or young you are, how small your **** is, how much of a nerd irl you are or how depressed you are that you never will get laid. There is no reason to act like an A-hole to everyone on an mmorpg. Its a shame that I have to take time out of my day to tell people "stop being an A-hole". So I end with this, if your acting like an A-hole, and some one tells you your being an A-hole chances are your being an A-hole.0

When I first started merchanting it wasn't uncommon to spend hours running around researching various markets, only to end up learning nothing useful. My income was also pretty low, maybe 100-200k per day. But, just like anything in life, I got better at it as I got more experienced at it.
The end result is that I now spend maybe 15-20 minutes per day restocking my shops and get paid roughly 1-3 million per day for the effort (not including the periods when sales are hot and can jump up to numbers like 8-15 million per day). And frankly, coming home and having a nice stack of new wealth deposited in my account each time I log-in makes those 15 minutes quite enjoyable, actually.
So consequently, when I actually do sit down to play, I can just play. I don't need to ever worry about not being able to afford things like pots/charms/wines/skills/repairs/teleports/guardian scrolls/etc... and of course having good equipment also makes everything easier too. Furthermore, whenever I play I can focus exclusively on things I actually want to do. I never need to bother with activities that I find boring or repetitive.Daikataro - Dreamweaver wrote: »Oh about setting shops and playing less i'll agree with pretty much everyone else, what am i supposed to sell on my shop? Being a merchant means knowing where market imbalances are and then filling them. There are tons of such imbalances, and thus there are tons of ways to make money as a merchant, but most people fail at it because they just mindlessly set-up random shops and hope somebody magically buys/sells whatever they're offering.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I remember being a rookie merchant. I made some teles and sold those for a profit. I did make some money, around 300k per day. I moved to different things before the market crashed. I remember seeing that I could make teles for 10.5k each yet the average price was 12.5k. I decided to sell teles for 11.5k and it worked.
Now I'm pretty much retired from merchanting. I tried mirages, p. stones and some token items I don't want to tell you about. I made 1.5m profit per day at best when I invested 10m to tokens and crafted some items from those. In the end the market crashed (as usual) and I was out. So far I haven't found a good market that I could use. Sales also make me some profit if the items are widely wanted and cheaply priced (per unit). Good example would be Dragon Orbs. My method is unique though. I used it to gain several millions in six hours on three different days. I started with 1.6m and got myself to 13m or so.
Nowadays I just hope to profit from cube which means plenty of robber/bully rooms.100% F2P player. Started PW: March 2007, Quit PW: March 2011.
