Multiple Window Volume Issues

I play Perfectworld with the effects and music volumes at 0. When I switch between windows, say, Internet and PWI, or Vent and PWI, and come back to PWI, I get blasted with effects at maxiumum volume. It's especially awful if someone is buffing or healing. My volume for PW is always at 0, yet it blasts it at max volume when switching back. How can I fix this?

This is an issue I can't say I've ever had at all. And I can't say I know even a half decent reason as to why it would happen either. Try verifying, perhaps?[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

i get it, and there is no fix, you just have to move the slider bar to disable the sound again. and you have to do this again everytime you get this glitch[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

Assuming you're using Windows (not sure if this is available for 7 though I'm sure it would be) click the volume icon in your taskbar and choose mixer, and then just mute PW specifically.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
Evict is a sexy chalupa.

I have no option to mute specific programs such as PWI.0

The audio engine pauses (like the rendering engine) when the window loses focus, but messages from the application still gets sent and floods the DirectSound/your audio device buffers, which catch up all in one go when you return to it.
Some set-ups have this issue, some don't. I don't know any solution though.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
I have it happen when I load up the game or an instance in the background. e.g. I enter TT. While it's loading, I pop up my web browser to look something up. The TT instance loads in the background. I finish web browsing, bring PWI to the foreground, and the sound and music are at max volume.
It's like the volume settings I've picked are applied after the instance loads, but they aren't applied if the game isn't in the foreground the moment it finishes loading.0 -
Happened a lot to me when using Windows Xp. Now I have Windows 7, and there is no problem with it.

You guys do remember to hit confirm after you set the volume to minimum, right?
Because otherwise once you tab back in or re-open the settings menu, the sound will come back at full blast.0
