TW Etiquette?

In the middle of a recent TW, my squad was to guard the middle path. We were bum rushed at our gates so the remaining members of my group went to assist and I stayed behind to keep watch at the towers on a flying mount.

A few minutes passed and I saw one of my faction members running down the path with a blademaster on his tail. They passed under me and I followed to help and ended up killing the BM. I then received a PM from him written with profanities and him quoting, "Can't you see I was fighting someone else?" and continued to rage about his death.

Sooo..Am I supposed to just watch my factionmates flee for their lives and idly let them get killed because they were already engaged in a fight with someone else? I thought the purpose of TW was a team effort to defeat/defend the objective, not watch them get slaughtered and not help. Would like to get some thoughts on it and if I was in the wrong or right.

Tw is about fighting the thread as 1 faction. So yea, when you see someone running for someone, you help him. That's war

If he wants to 1v1, he can do it outside TW. Inside of it, the priority isn't on his fights but on the faction's battle as a whole.

Agreed in turn. If he's unable to think about teamwork (assists, winning the war beyond personal pride, etc.), he is unfit for TW.

Agreed with all - the BM you killed is apparently confusing 1v1 PK with TW.

Just noticed Mista said teammate and not the BM you mentioned.

Your teammate was fine in doing his job at the moment (or so I assume) and working with you to kill that BM when you helped him.

The BM killed, on the other hand, is an idiot for thinking TW has room for his ego.

That's an interesting point you bring there. OP was certainly confusing in his post. If it's so, the BM was a complete idiot for going to TW, as he should have expected that kind of situation.

Besides, reporting him for harrassment would be a valid point still.

[OP] Sorry for the confusion, I guess I didn't write it correctly. I have no idea if my factionmate and this BM were doing a type of duel with only themselves 1v1. I saw a friend running from the enemy and I helped them. Even if they were going 1v1, how was I supposed to know when they just appear on to my screen, and at the time 2.5 hours in, I didn't really care too much.

I got some lulz from how upset the BM, and just wanted to know if going 1v1 (such as a duel, but I thought those were disabled in TW, can't remember) is something you should butt out of until one of them is dead or team up on them.

Ive never heard of people doing 1v1 in the middle of TW. Might as well be having a tea party if its anything less than 80v80.

When it comes to TW, I must agree with this completely. I don't care what level you are, what you are doing, or what gear you have. If you are in a TW with me and not in my faction I will attack you.

I always cuss ppl out in TW in common chat and in whispers, helps me vent and theres a high probability the other player/s will get sidetracked in their thinking, i'm sure 1/2 of Tao and Radiance have screenshots calling them everything under the sun.

Although I only chat with a few people. Some of them don't know how to multitask very well, hehehehehe. Chatting works better than stunning arrow sometimes ^_^

Imagine if you will, D-day.

Bullets flying every direction, thousands of soldiers running all over the place. You shoot at someone and then out of nowhere you hear some German yelling at you as he sticks his head out from his trench, calling you an **** for interrupting his comrade as he fought 1v1 with one of your comrades.


It's about the same, really.

when fighting a weaker faction and u have 3-5 mins to win, most of the dd classes just kinda rush in and start mass killing ppl. we get a lot of hate messages saying things like its not fair. fight me 1 on 1 or your gear is high lvl. remove it or your cheating. sometimes in squad chat we get to laugh about things. especially the 1 on 1 part considering 3 wars in 1 night. but, generally, ull get some hate if u kill someone. that or. if your fighting against another faction that is equal to u, ull get some laughs as u talk with the other side saying ouch. or hey dont hit a girl etc. lol
