Endgame Sharding

atm i use roughly a 2:1 ratio with Garnets:Citrines

at 99 i've been playing with PWcalc and Im torn between Citrines in everything or Citrines in everything except hat & cape.

Strictly for PVP, discuss your opinions... I have 50 base vit now but im debating going pure when I get new gear @ 99.

Adroit - Lost City

I just used shards to balance my pdef and hp. I don't know what exactly is ideal, but I generally shoot for about equal hp and pdef when self buffed. Even if the garnets would benefit you more against physical classes, you should keep in mind that hp also helps against magic atks, and is counted several times over with buffs and charm etc. My point is, I would error on the side of hp rather than pdef. Anyway, if I had lets say.. 5k pdef and 4k hp.. I'd shard hp to balance them out a bit. Endgame gear gives tons of pdef, so you will likely be sharding 100% citrines. Self buffed, I have 5.7k hp and 6.6k pdef with all citrines in my gear. Dunno if that helps at all xD

In my tt90 gear, I went 50/50 (9 immac cit, 9immac garn)

I plan to shard purely Citrines in my coming gear, and swapping out my garnets in my cape for citrines, and refine my belt and necklace a little more to boost Pdef a little.

Unless I plan on getting different ornaments.

But good self buffed pdef (5k+) Is very good for when you're only self buffed/purged (Even if Bell+Cleric pdef buff puts it into diminishing returns area)

+7 HH90 Gold Neck + +7 4th Map Belt and level 11 barrier = all the pdef you need

Citrine Gems in event gear\nirvana, g8\9 hp shards in rest of gear.

Well yeah, I have sage Stone barrier and tt90 gold necky and 4th map belt. +5 and +4 only at the moment. So yeah, those + whatever standard Pdef off the rest of your armour is all you really need, and you should shard HP after that.

I have a crit arrow too but its just for the looks on my character screen. I know it doesn't work.

For me actually I'm kind of thinking of sharding +2 defense lvl to try to offset the Jones Blessing but I'm not too sure about the cost efficiency vs results of it all. For sharding the generic answer is shard all citrines but its all on how much your willing to spend on refining ornaments and/or armor, do you want to be adequate or overpowered, and your armor choices at your "endgame".
