Cutting down a tree

Im such a noob and i dont know how to cut down a tree D:

    why do you want to?

    if you need lumber for something, find a tree stump and dig it up. yes. unintuitive, but that's how it works.

    or a 'tree root'. Or was it old tree root...

    but yea...tree roots give you lumber for some reason

    Buy a pickaxe for 2k then dig the Tree root or stump. The trees in PW are huge I couldn't imagine cutting em down

    Actually you've gotta make a veno and give the veno's pet the HM move 'cut' (just like pokemon) b:shocked

    Yup Axixon is right, buy a pickaxe from any merchant (2nd page of Goods menu). It may be a bit costly for a newcomer, but it will serve you always (just keep it in a corner of your inventory).
    You can farm from herbs with it too.

    I could. Cut it down, chop it into pieces, and just forget about those stupid wood mines for the rest of the game.

    As for the mines --- these are just little objects on the ground all over the world. You can find some near your starting city, but other players might have harvested them and they have a respawn time of 10 (or even 20?) minutes. Just walk around a bit, hover the mousepointer over objects, and if it changes into a "mining" pointer than you found something that you can mine by just clicking on it (if you have a pickaxe). Even if it's not the Tree Root you are looking for, it should still give you some idea about these mines, how they work and what they look like.
    Slow progress, game is getting way too grindy :-( Quests I still hope to be able to do some day: FB39, General Feng

    Just about every town and village has an NPC called "Merchant".

    He who is labelled "Merchant Some Name" is (one of) the (many) CHOSEN ONE(s) to sell you a pickaxe.

    ok but when i talk to the merchant all he/she gives me are quest & can't buy any thing

    there should be a buy/sell when u first double click on the merchant iirc...

    It will be under "Goods" then click the "Misc." button to find the Pickaxe.

    Also, please don't necro. Posting in threads that have been dead for over 30 days is frowned upon.
