Interval sin in PvE: This is just for me. Other sins and their builds/successes can vary.

Perma-demon spark. 15k damage regularly, 2.5 times per second. Crits upward of 30k, 25% of the time. Blood paint heals 2% of my damage, thus, little potting needed for any boss (except the 79/89 bosses), including Garunob and Polearm from bh69 (I just need to time my sparking to purify the Armor Break debuff right after it's cast). Recently, in Rotflesh Trench, I helped out a barb friend. There were 43 participants, 3 level 90+ and 1 level 100 wizard non-participants also helping their friends like I was. We were late to enter, but he reached rank 1 halfway through the 2nd wave, doubled the rank 2's cont. by the end of the 2nd wave, died at the last boss and still came out rank 1.

    PvE-wise, we're like super squishy fist bm's. Fish Bm's b:laugh

    I can't really say anything inspiring PvP-wise. I don't PvP b:surrender

Interval assassins are very much capable of tanking. Just wanna make that clear. You're probly running into fail assassins if they can't tank. A good assassin can be considered a back-up tank, sort of like how a good BM can be a back-up tank. Now.. PvP: An end-game interval assassin can kill anyone except an end-game barb and some end-game BMs (mostly cash shoppers). They can also start PKing early and still be extremely good at it, mostly due to squishy skills early on and stealth.
If you want maximized damage, then you're right about wearing LA. But a HA built sin isn't impossible, just more time consuming. Good HA interval sins are incredibly rare but can kill an end-game BM and some end-game Barbs.

Basically in PvP, an interval sin can kill nearly anything that moves at later levels and most things that move at earlier levels.
In PvE, a sin doesn't do very well until they hit 4x. Then they're okay. At 60+, an interval sin will hardly ever die in PvE if played right. You've got massive damage in simple normal attacks to kill enemies quickly and bloodpaint to recover HP each time you hit an enemy. On top of that, if things go badly, you still have squishy skills and stealth.

I'd say the only 3 things a sin should have trouble with are: killing a higher level sin, killing an EG barb, and not stealing aggro from bad tanks.

My assassin is only level 95 right now and I have no problem taking out level 100 barbs as long as my occult ice procs.

PVE wise, as long as you have about a -.1 interval gear you will more then likely not need healing on regular mobs and some elites because you will heal through their damage.

I know at my level I can tank most bosses now thanks to interval gear and not even need heals (for most).

^^At amarante^^ 2.5 aps is not perma spark, its just almost.

Well that's true. But I can keep up the demon spark indefinitely with chi skills. 20, 30 40 sparkings in Nien event without going into a non-sparked state sounds like perma spark to me. Not that the nien beasts would last 40 sparkings :P
