Multiclienting question

Probably a stupid question, but I was looking on the BOI forums, and saw you multiclient, however on here, you cannot.
Any ideas why?

    I believe there is a post by a GM saying that you are allowed to multi-client but the other account must be used only as a shop account and the character must be kept at level 1.

    As far as I'm aware, any form of multiclienting on PWI is going to earn you a ban.

    That aside, you need to stop bringing these topics back up just because you got banned for something. Ticket it and let the GMs deal with it or answer your question.

    I'm PRETTY SURE you're ONLY allowed to use two different computers. Like, if you want to let your alt sit in catshop mode while you play on another computer with your main. Something like that.

    according to tos ur not allowed multiclient, however easy to, and loads of people do. GM's dont seem to keep track, however if som1 report and gm see you multiclient on check, then yea.. bye.

    why i say gm's dont seem to kep track is cos i know people who have been doing for over a year, never got even a warning.. lol

    though, i do hate its not allowed, people do it either way and not rly hurt anyone so :/

    If I had a link I would have posted the link. This is just from memory of reading a thread which had that information in it posted by a GM. I know all the "No link, doesnt exist" stuff, so don't believe me if you don't want to. Your loss, not mine.

    I quoted what I was told, however the support representative who told me that was talking about Jade Dinasty which is now PWI.

    Multiclienting is bannable on Perfect World. Note multiclienting means running more than one client on the SAME COMPUTER.

    Hmm, using logic, it would make sense that what applies in those games should apply to PWI even if it does not apply yet.
    I mean, it's only fair, right?

    I hope that the decision is made that makes this an approved practice...

    I mean, it's already obviously done all over PWI, 80% of the catshops I see are obviously selling chars and not real chars, with names like "GirlSeller" and "CuteMerchant", and level 1. And some with names that include the main chars name and the main char is online and using world chat. Ive also seen 4 or more cat shops beside each other all with similar names. Im guessing some of these are using different systems but my guess is that the vast majority of these are simply multi-clienting. It is so obvious, yet no action has been taken against them.

    Perfect World has something like XTrap (or so they say) which checks for 3rd party programs accessing to the computer's memory (RAM). So they should be able to say who is running a second client or not.

    As for me, I use two computers, one for playing and one for vending. It's pretty much the only way around, I'm not sure but VPS are supposed to not be allowed since you're controlling the clients from the same computer, so I'd say only having a 2nd computer would be the only non-bannable solution for having a 2nd char up.

    If you suspect multiclienting you could always take a screenshot and send in a ticket.

    Support will check on this and take the appropriate measures.

    somehow i think they not act too much again multiclient people.
    cos they know that they would lose too many players, if they banned all who did xD.
    on NASDAQ pwrd is losing money atleast. if its any of the other game sor pw-cn version or PWI we cant see.. but they cant afford to ban all with current economy :P

    open nirv with some old 100's who quit.. open TT with alts.. have alts or people who quit stand by somewhere rdy to log in to buff yourself to solo that TT alone etc.. people u wouldnt think would do it are doing it everyday on DW atleast.

    Wall of text so I went quickly through it and also made a search for Multi, Client, Account. I didn't find anything related to multiboxing but maybe it's there somewhere. Please do a copy/paste if you find it.

    more to the point, they've got a program they wrote running on your computer and user account. so if YOU can tell you're multiclienting, that program can too. and it can talk to the game servers...

    (really, multiclienting is a silly way to be lazy. there are as many ways to prevent it as the developers want to bother implementing. if you want a quick, cheap advantage in the game, cash shop, it's not only easier but gets you more of an advantage anyway as well as being more cost effective.)
