I got the idea from CoH actually. But you are able to change a character's name for $10 in the online store (with the server transfer it's actually free but anyway..). Why can't we have name changes or server transfers set up as 10 gold each in the Cash Shop? Then have a time limit for the next time it can happen on that character or on the account in general. Maybe around 2 weeks of in game time? I'm sure some people would be interested in this option. Then have a bank transfer as a separate item as well. Then if someone wanted all 3 at once for a character it can be 25 gold.

    Has been suggested before... and as some people stated before, with name changing, there will be abuse, too.

    Sure there will be abuse but I think it's actually a good idea.

    People changing their names to escape a bad reputation? It's an online game, these people you will never meet so why would you care.

    People changing names so they can break the rules and not get caught? I'm confident name changes will be recorded in the server as they are in real life.

    I honestly don't see any problems with this idea.

    i dont think name change is good cause many have the mentallity quoted above and abuse it. Same as not wanting a criminal-on-the-run in your neighborhood with a changed name. Just cause the authorities know doesnt mean its safe for others.

    along with that... think of how confused it wud make yer friends on yer FL and yer fac ppl (if yer in a fac) They wouldnt have any idea who u were just by reading yer name... and +1 on the abuse comment.. that would just be horrible b:cold

    Sure.... but with the abuse of it... that means PWI is making that much more money... which is better for them. I doubt too many players that frequently use World Chat would use it often just because they would lose their e-popularity using a different name. It'd be nice to use globals (or chat handels) in the game too that can not be changed. The global would be the actual account name instead of individual character name... then you can add a character's global name instead of just the single character and know who they are whether they change names or just make a new character.

    On an online game what difference does it make what a criminal's name is, all you need to know is they are doing something wrong, and report them with screenshots. I've played a game that has this feature and it's really not that bad at all. The only difference with that feature and the one suggested is that you can only do it a few times.

    If this feature were implemented with a limit the only real issue would be confusion in factions and friend lists, which would easily be fixed once the friend/factionmate explains.

    Well... you act as though cash shopping transactions are never filed in the system. There's no reason why they can't track what your name was or is changed to.

    worst idea ever. if you dont like your name start a new character. its not like it takes more than a month to level to 90 again even if you are lazy.

    never saw that one but i'd support that before name changes. as long as when they rolled it back they decide to keep all the packs/bh/frost change/hyper stones out of the game forever.

    Some Rules each PWI Gamer should know
    1. Dont break this rules & no matter what: DONT TRUST ANYONE!
    2. Dont pay wine or heads fee (like to get kicked after that?) b:chuckle
    3. Dont borrow items (since when return gms scammed stuff?) b:embarrass
    4. Dont use your password in faction-forums (like hacks?) b:fatb
    5. Dont give your mats to the tt-banker (obvious, not?) b:beg
    6. Dont wait for help, or heals, or any other miracles,... (for more examples just play pwi and you will hate the whole humanity) b:bye

    I would swap the names around on my characters given the chance. I have the names I like I just want to move them around between my characters once.
