Is there max level for PETS?

I was thinking that a couple of my pets aren't doing the kinda damage I thought they should and came up thinking there may be an unseen "maximum effective level" for pets.

Ideas, thoughts?

I only have currently lvl 46's of Volcanic Magmite and Glacial Walker and am currently lvl'ing my 42 Cloud Skatefish to match (I endeavor to keep my pets the same level as I am).

On a side note, I know the 'nix and herc's are supposedly the best, but other than cash-shop pets, what is the best alternate?

More ideas, thoughts invited.

Thanks for taking the time to read this; please be somewhat "noob"-friendly in your responses, as I've only been playing PWI for a couple months so far (I am a 2moons convert).

The absolute, hard-coded maximum level for pets is 150. At 150, the game's code will no longer attribute any exp to you or your pet.

The practical maximum level, of course, is that a pet cannot advance beyond your level. I'm pretty sure you know this already.

There is no maximum "effective" level that applies to all pets - it depends on the circumstances and the pet in question.

Generally speaking, raising a very low pet will result in a stronger and more powerful one than capturing something mid- or high-level. For specific pet advice, you're better off asking around in the venomancer forum. Herc and 'Nix aside, it would seem the Glacial Walker is the new Magmite, and Petite Sawfly is a popular fly pet.

Hmm several questions there, well here goes:

The max lvl a pet can get to is 105 but that means you are lvl 105 so... yeah not really feasible.

The max effective level is a bit trickier, as far as I know such a thing does not exist.

Which raises the question, what is causing the lower damage effect?

Well the problem is that multiple factors can be effecting damage (i.e. lvl of pet vs. lvl of mob, is it elite, is it in pvp, etc) but at the core the fact is the the magmite and the walker (best tank after herc imo) are tank pets not damage dealing pets so lower damage is kinda expected.
As for what would be a good non nix dd pet I really don't know I was always happy with my big unstoppable rock.

On a side note as far as keeping your pets lvled with you the easiest ways are room 4 of the cube for land pets and the staunch worms west of the city of the raging tides as both give the full 15 exp to your pet.

I hope this helped, keep in mind that this is my personal opinion based on what I have seen and read :)

Now THATs useful information, and I thank both of you very much. More forum users should be so helpful (I'm not saying that folks here aren't helpful).
