Vit stones or Defence lvl +2

so i was bored and wanted know other peoples opinions.k imagine ya got your endgame gear all 4 socket and eonogh coin to shard it how ever u want. vit stones (lots of hp and some p.def/m.def) or full defence +2 (abot 68 def lvl i think?) or a mix of both (get average hp and good defence). plz leave only comment this is just a cool dicussion to find peoples opinions. no flaming or trollin

Assuming you have 4 sockets on all 6 socketable gear, thats 24 sockets, the max +def lv gem is +2 right? So its +48 levels total.

And I don't know if you were serious that 4 sockets on everything would be within reach for most players. I consider myself a medium level cashshopper, and I don't think 4 socketting G12 armors to be affordable, much less nirvana/event gears. Lets just assume that you lucked out and got 3 sockets on TT99s, so the 4th socket on each armor takes 2000 socket stones; 2000 x 6 =12,000 socket stones. That can get expensive real fast =/. I think what your asking is exclusive to a very small population. And that's just for G12 (TT99s), by the time you recast and whatnot, the prices goes up even further (4th socket on a G13 is 5000 socket stones QQ)

3 sockets would be much more within reason. 600 socket stones for the 3rd socket on a G12 is only 600 socket stones, or 3,600 socket stones total. And thats considering that ALL of your TT99s came out 2 sockets. Most of the times you can get a 3 socket here and there.

Obviously the above amounts should be adjusted for event cape/helmets.

^ that answers your question; sharding varies for different classes S: I personally don't think pure arcane classes should completely shard for HP, so vit stones aren't even considered.

on a side note, for arcane classes like cleric/wizzie/psychic, you only get 10hp/vit, so a Citrine Gem (+115 HP) would be better, also cheaper. Idk what archers get, but venos gets 12hp/vit, BM gets 15hp/vit, and barb gets 17hp/vit. So even if you were trying to get more HP, check your class before sharding with +10 vit stones.

also depends on your gear cus 6 peices of nirvana armor = +13 def lvl? as a bonus.

I'd shard mainly Garnet with some Vit stones. Sharding with Defense stones against the new Jones Blessings means you're pretty much not sharding your gear at all, and leaving your gear essentially unsharded for not even 20 Defense levels isn't a smart idea, at least not to me.

Gonna have to go with the vit stones and garnet Gems. To me, it feels like the jade of defence means nothing if you have a blessing that gives everyone +30 atk levels. Rather get the extra vitality instead

I don't get Crescendia and Zan's argument... just because of the blessing, def lvl is useless? You still take less damage than you would have without the def stones.

K, so sharing VIT or HP to get to 13k HP when you had 10k HP is like not sharding at all either? Against a blessing, you'll loose your HP 30% faster... so the extra 3K HP is getting canceled out by the blessing and you are like not sharding your armor! Zomg what iz u doing?

In the end, the survival benefit difference of each def lvl vs a VIT stone stays the same no matter how much damage you are taking.

about vit stones, +10 VIT gives about 1% more equipment defense too. def +2 stones gives you better defense but no hp. anyway, defense level has increasing returns if you choose to shard with lots of def +2. the only thing that +10 vit stones gives you better is more hp regen

about increasing returns, if you didnt understand that... +30 atk lvl its like 30% more easier to kill while if you have 6 pieces of armor and all 4 sockets that means 24 sockets. sharding all with +2 will give you def +48 and you are about 92% harder to kill (vs no atk lvl, atk and def cancel each other). if your hp blows from the start, that def lvl doesnt help you that much xD

Thanks I was going to ask why the hell jones blessing makes defense gems useless... as far as I know def gems are actually better with jones blessing...

lol, i wasnt gunna post about it, since lately i dont feel like being as d1ckish as before.....but yeah, saying defense shards do nothing because of attack blessing is probably....not probably, IS the dumbest thing ive read on the forums.

Arcane classes should not shard garnet, because classes that deal physical damage refine/shard weapons for physical damage.....so really your shards would just offset and do no good. how the **** can that possibly make sense in anyone's head?

Anyways so far only 3 epople have said shard full def so i think thats outta the running.
Tbh its starting to look more like individual classes are the debate as to how to shard what. imo it depends on the class. liek wizzies i should think would shard both instead of garnets, that way the can get a good def lvl( round 24) and decents hp vit stones. yeah i know a citrine gem give more hp for a wiz but it you chard a vit stone vit also give a bit more defence to both phsyical and magical and ups your regen. so i think would be a bit better then gems

Now, on topic, I would love both. I would do it like 80 more vit (cape and helmet with the +10 stones) the rest +2 lvl def (+32 def total) that would be b:dirty

Sure, I've heard of isolated players who lucked up with 3 or 4 pieces of 4 sockets, but again, you can't depend on that to work everytime. Also, 2k socket stones isn't enough to shard a single piece of G13 to 4 sockets lol. G13's 3rd socket -> 4th socket takes 5000 socket stones. Nirvana is G15... have fun with that.
