Sage BIDS Crit Rate Query

Hello folks.

I remember reading a little while back on the forums about a trick to keep the increased crit rate from Sage BIDS going longer than it is meant to. Perhaps even in perpetuity.

I've tried searching the forums but haven't been able to dig up the right thread.

Those of you who know or remember better, could you remind me of the details and that i'm not actually losing my mind?

    the trick was to proc the crit % without taking up any chi. (Just teh mana.)

    This trick will work with Sage BT/MS and Demon BIDS (To get extra spark)
    Works with Sage Bids to get the Crit rate

    Start channelliing the skill with your regular weapon, and at any time during the channelling switch to a non magic weapon. I use a lvl 1 poleblade.

    With sage BT and MS and Demon BIDS with a 50% chance you will gain 1 spark.
    With sage BIDS you have a 50% chance to gain 30% crit
    Im not sure what the other Demon Ulties do.

    How this works?
    There are three parts to a skill
    Chanelling, Proc deciding and Cast.

    Proc deciding is where it runs a random number to decide if you get that 50% chance or not.
    switching weapons will cancel the cast, but still get the chance to Proc.

    I only have sage BT atm but I often will fake cast it to get sparks.

    Try it out and have fun

    I have Sage BIDS in bank and Mountain Seize in the mailbox.

    Just need to level to 99 to try it out now! b:faint

    Demon BIDS gains two sparks when it procs.

    Demon Mountain Seize does not have a proc.

    Demon Blade Tempest proc is an interrupt.
