friends are they real or just there when they need you

Friend's hmmm what's that are people realy your friend on thease games or they only there to bug you for hp buffs etc .

The only time my friends ever talk to me if they want a barb buff or coin or cant get a barb to do t-t or bh or something iam not a bank get over it.

I mean god i had this 1 friend who i thought who was a friend made a promise to help me out on delta and even said after work he bring some friends to help i mean i wouldn't mind if he or she said sorry i cant do it tonight but to go through my online wife tell her he having enteret issues but yet he is playing with his alt the rest of the night does that make any sense at all????

I just dont get it when i was young where talking back in the early 80's befor some of your time we had arcades around my town in any case the only time thease friends so called i would say had intrest is when they found out i had money.Now i see it on this game i lost intrest in this game big time the only time i go now is to do simple bh and then maybe cs but i been thinking about skipping cs at my level you dont get squat for exp nor do u get much exp with out hyper stones that's another matter.


In any case i am just fed up how this game is run most people on here to selfish dont care knowing iam a high level barb they all want me but yet when i need help no one's around well sorry it aint going to happend iam putting my foot down for now on no more begging for coin you need coing go grind make coin leave me alone IAM NOT A BANK GOT IT!!!!!

Iam not saying all friends but maybe 2 out of my list do say hi to me the rest i choose to delete there's no sense in keeping people on your friends list they dont even say hi how are u etc.

So this topic for those who know me on this sever i wont be on much at all aint dealing with the **** any more.

I know some friends even gave there char to there family members there sick of it the only reason why iam keeping my char is that i invested a lot of money on this game.

So how do you realy know who your true friends are on here easy see who realy talks to u make a lie say u have so much coin etc and sit back and see how many so call friends talk to u make up a story they wont know if u realy have that much coin or not but it's a test to see who your true friends are right.

Not all people just want to take advantage of you. I could name some good people on my friend list that would just love to hangout and do stuff that friends do just for fun. Maybe all the people you met were just not wanting to be real friends with you but rather take advantage of you, I'm not surprised because a lot of people would do that to earn stuff ingame and such, however, there are people who like to hangout as well as help you or get help from you.

Also, there a huge difference between helping and taking advantage of someone..

Well you wouldn't just go up to a random stranger on the streets and give them your number. They aren't really your friends just because they are on your list. If you really like each other then you will naturally have urge to talk again.

I really hate it when I'm in a random squad and all of a sudden after the run ends, I find one of the players adding me when we didn't even talk. What pisses me even more, is that they never talk once they added you or even ask for help. Why bother? -.-;

They aren't your friends. Th simply know a high lvl barb with nice buffs. One thing I hate in a friend and hate to be myself is a user. If they don't have anything to say besides buff me plz or come tank for me get new friends that say wanna go pking or I found that thing you were looking for.

Form a static group, and only do the things you need as well. Once that gets established, then help only when you feel like it. That way, the annoyance doesn't build up, since you give help freely if you feel like it with no strings attached. And by setting up the static, and/or focusing on just your needs, you will be able to get your things taken care of. If they kick you from faction or stop talking to you for acting like them, good. It helps lessen the amount of selfish asses you have to deal with.

Essentially adopt a playstyle that discourages or prevents people you don't want to be around from wanting to be around you. You will find you enjoy the game more, and helping more as well when it goes to people who don't use you all the time.

To OP,

This sure is a feeling that is familiar.

There are people that will want for you to do their bidding 24\7, have no remorse about it and hide their schemes pretty well.
Others will calculate a lot, but at least it's less worse.
Finally are good ones that seek only true happiness.

Nothing is cast in stone and meeting the wrong people should not be a reason to give up on trying (even if I chose the path of the loner, such a bad example I am).
Just do your best in knowing who to trust and help and who not to.

But in the end... Don't have regrets. It does happen in life, to anyone, at any time, everywhere. Games can teach us that at least.
Just be cautious and keep believing... There are bad people, but if it is so, there are good people for you to find also.

Most of the ppl I have on my list is cause they are useful & if I'll need a squad I'll pm them if they won't come boohoo will have to find others. There's only a few who are real friends that I'm gona help or ask for help & they will come & vice versa, but that's cause we been playing together everyday for over a year now... Not some random person I added after a bh a day ago & now expect to do my stuff...

so, when my squad looks for a barb I would search in my fl for a barb
however I can understand that it could be a bit annoying...

Friends are people I enjoy squadding with or speaking to from time to time. It doesn't have to be every day, doesn't have to be every second I am on the game, just a nice little chat once a week or so, recognising that we both still exist and ask how things are going. Casual friendship I suppose, but in a game where most of my true "we talk every day" good friends have quit I'm not going to turn my nose up at other people.

Thankfully, being an archer, I am never asked for buffs. Hell, my veno isn't either. You can get bramble or WoP from any particularly nice passer-by so you know, I don't have to sit around and groan every few minutes when I'm asked for buffs.

Of course the downside to being such a common class is that I'm very rarely asked to go on anything else either, apart from one time where a friend invited me to a Warsong just for fun because it was apparently going to fail. Or... something like that. IDK.

I don't really expect much out of my "friends" but in all honesty these people aren't going to be people I go out of my way to talk to. I suggest you just do the same. Gather a group of people you like, who you don't mind speaking to, and every now and then just have a friendly chat with them and see how things are going. Ignore everybody else or delete them from your friends list.

I understand your frustrations... but yeah like in life same in game, friends are not always there for you when you need them.
1st of all, BH system kinda ruined the meaning of "friends" Half of the friends list is full of ppl same lvl range that you squad up in BH. At least thats on my alt. My main lvled during no BH and my friends list still has alot of ppl that are real friends, and i didnt accept friends requests from random bh squads. I have ppl who i know i can count on for bhs - BH buddies, i have friends who i know i can count on to help me and i would help them anytime they ask - friends. The problem is you, not them. You need to draw a line between friends and bh buddies.
2nd. especially lower lvls tend to send invite to any high lvl that cross their road or ever helped them with a boss so that they can use their help in the future. If you accept them it means u accepted to be used.

Most of my friends that I leveled with quit playing the game...so I re-rolled and made some new friends. Then I re-rolled again. I'm having a good time playing with new peeps that I just met and some old friends that have stuck around.

If people ask me for help, I'll help them. But when the time comes for me to get some help, I'll ask. If no help is offered, then quid pro quo- they don't get help anymore.

Yup, I think we all have those "friends" who only talk to us when they have questions, or need help. Usually, I'll let them stay on my friendslist for a couple of weeks, until they annoy me for the last time, then delete them.

But I have a lot of actual friends on my list - people who just message me to chat, people who want to do things WITH me, rather than have me do FOR them.

Find a good faction that is active on vent. Log onto vent every time you play. It makes the game more fun, often, things that are done like BH, Nirvana, PvP all form on vent before a word is even said in guild chat. Guild chat is the 'last resort' for finding parties on PWI, imo. Teles is just desperation.

Get in vent, and be active in vent. Makes the game a whole lot more enjoyable. b:bye
