An Act of Kindness

Well, i've recently made low key return to PW after being absent for some months and have basically been dedicating myself to just enjoying BH instance runs and PQs which, needless to say, have been draining what little funds i had left from back when i was playing in a regular basis. My closest friends being long gone, and trying to save myself some money by not buying the two stars required to upgrade my blacksmith skill, i decided to take a chance and ask for help in West Archo to upgrade my weapon. Now, it may seem like i took too much of a chance handing over my wep and mats to a stranger, which i could little afford to replace, but experience has shown me than more often than not most of the people playing this game are pretty much decent people.

I found someone to help me which i will not name since i'm not sure if this person would appreciate being made the subject of a thread in PW forums, so suffice it to say this was a very high level in my server's dominant faction. This person decomposed my wep for free, i know there's a small fee for that, managed to roll double slots which out of his/her own pocket sharded with flawless saphires, and even +1'd my wep, actually apologizing about having ran out of mirages. And did all of this with good grace, even going as far as offering me help should i ever require it in the future. I obviously could not thank this person enough and feel indebted.

Now, for all the times i may have at some time in the past posted in this forum complaining about this or that person, i felt i had an obligation to perhaps come here and give credit where it is due. MMOs can sometimes be a very hostile and unforgiving enviroment, but they can also become a very rewarding experience when one is lucky enough to come accross good players. Now, i'm not sure about how prices for some things stand at the moment, but it may very well that this good samaritan may have spent as much on the weapon i'm using (an Ancient Arbor now upgraded to a Grief's Breath) as i have myself. Such spontaneous acts of kindness, even if small for a person that may have access to a large ingame wealth, are precisely what makes this a good comunity. So a heartfelt thanks is probably overdue from someone like me who has received so much, to all those of you willing to share your knowledge or your time to help those of us lower level than you. Let it be known it is apreciated, wether it's helping with some boss or just giving some advice or encouragement. Now, i know this was a rare ocurrence, resource management being precisely one of the competitive aspects of this game, but i hope i'll at least manage to pay it forward on however long this new stint of mine in this game may last.

I really did miss the good people of PW. b:thanks

Random acts of kindness FTW, glad you faced one, they are rare, but they do still happen.

Anything that gives you a smile, is good to be shared.

If I might borrow this thread for a related "Thank You"...

To all the folks that, while hanging around waiting for something to spawn, decide to toss buffs to the silly folks running around solo, thank you very much. I've had more than one boss fight made much easier due to your kindness. I wish we could see who put which effect on us, so the thanks could be given properly.

Let me take the time out to thank some people from a special little guild called Regicide.

Even though I am no longer one of your own, I am thankful for some of your people for actually taking the time and donating to my nix fund. Seriously, not all high class TW factions are full of a-holes. A few good number of these people[aka the big PKers aka server "jerks"] actually donated many feathers and TT'd with me in order to help assist in the funds for those feathers. It was not solo that I had to grind this out on my own, and the very same could be said for a few venos who helped TT with me in order for me to get my herc back when I was lvl 80. If it wasn't for the beautiful dedication of you guys to see me get the chicken, I don't think I would've even bother getting it.

For the BM who gave me with nothing in return 1k feathers, thank you.

For the Archer who lived in TT with me the whole day, telling me jokes and laughing with me, in a result helping me earn about 8mil that day alone for feathers, thank you.

For the wizard who took the time to sell herbs and whatnot to pass me the money for the fund, thank you.

For the cleric who acutally spent rl money in order to help me reach that final stretch, thank you.

And for the veno duo who actually stuck it out with me since day one of Mal getting her herc until Mal getting her nix for TW, living and dying with me in TT, causing havoc and mayhem on the map and instance alike, sharing our dedication for grinding for our legendary pets, for passing legendary and TT armor and weapons and fashion between our mains and alts, for giving our BM and cleric husbands the run for their lives in instances with us, and for being my best friends.

Thank you. I love you all. Maybe one day I will learn to love my veno again, and I can join you all in making Perfect world an enjoyable game to be a part of <3

Last time I did something really nice on this game the same person kos me for killing his brother
I don't care how old or young you are, how small your **** is, how much of a nerd irl you are or how depressed you are that you never will get laid. There is no reason to act like an A-hole to everyone on an mmorpg. Its a shame that I have to take time out of my day to tell people "stop being an A-hole". So I end with this, if your acting like an A-hole, and some one tells you your being an A-hole chances are your being an A-hole.

I absolutely agree. The point is, there is still alot of good in this world you just have too look for it.

I'd be compelled to do the same if you killed my brother. b:surrender

    I agree!

Nothing better than being helped by someone. Especially for something that means so much. But honestly - just the feeling that someone would put out time to help you and just give you some helpful advice is a great thing.

Also, for us high-levels: It is really a great feeling sharing experience and helping low-levels with different things (BH and FB and bosses, sometimes even gear for the generous), and the most important thing: It doesn't cost us much. It is easy for us to do these things, and it means so much for those people.

In general, PWI has really become too much about being effective. Play for fun, not for effeciency!!!

Great to see that someone still remembers that!
PWI will continue - in one way or the other. I'm just glad I found a balanced server now that I enjoy - naming is illegal, but PM's are welcome.

Only reason I log in still is also just to say hi to friends.

I think I would just go poke the dude if he only killed him once. If he camped him, then it might be a different thing.

    You all made me cryb:cry.

I forsee how many troll will come in here.. but since it is still clean..

If the stories are true.. well, congratz people. I still get surprised every now and then, but mostly then... There are less and less nice people in hereb:surrender. I appreciate my friends and faction. I try to be helpful myself, but you can't always be nice... they will either abuse it or make you flame and be mean...

For all the nice people out there, keep it up, we/they need you/us.
For all that get help and nice treatment, appreciate it!!!!
