Soulburn = the damage reflect is EQUAL to your TOTAL soul force value.

So if you have 5,000 soulforce, that's what it is going to reflect.

It is our defining skill IMO.

Not sure I understand your question, but here goes: Soulforce climbs as you level. There may be a way to increase it through other means, but someone more experienced might know about that.

And of what depends amount of Soulforce?

Soulforce climbs according to (lvl^2)+(lvl*50) by lvling.

Soulforce ALSO increases by refining gear, the higher the refines the more it increases. No idea how much, though.

And about Soulburn, I have 7119 Soulforce (lvl 63, no refines), but my Soulburn only hits for ~4500 each time. No idea if this is a bug or something or if it is only for me. (Can someone tell me if resistances have to be included in this damage?)

But all Soulforce skills do less damage than they are supposed to for me.

Another thing that should be noted about Soulburn is that it pierces through resistances.

Let me give you an example, say a Wizard has his magic attack at a point that he always hits for 10k with Gush.(This is just an example)
Now when that Wizard hits a player then it would be reduced since it was a pvp target by 70%, meaning it would hit a player for 3k damage.
Now say the wizard hits a player with 50% to there water resistance stat, The gush attack would then hit for even less than 3k.(About 1,500 but there is probably other math to consider)

Now Soulburn's damage will still be reduced since it is a pvp target your casting it on, BUT Soulburn ignores all resistances, so it's damage will always be consistent. And against classes with low HP it can be very deadly when used right.

The only problem with this skill is it's very slow cast time, and the super flashy animation that comes with it. Making it very difficult to miss.

Hope my little rant helped out.

It's fun to cast on people who are punching NPC's for chi.

And that is all you need to know.

I know right? Massive cool. b:victory

But I agree, Soulburn is one of our most feared and powerful skills if used correctly. One of the bad things is, it can get interrupted, and sometimes it's a little slow to cast....BUT, -CH items really help take that off.....and yeah....the.....animation....kinda gives us away.

Things you often hear while people stupidly watch flashy animation:

BARB: Psy's casting GC. <--(people still unfortunately call it the green curse. I think it's badass personally.)
    Cleric: Lol noob, purif-- WTF?!
Assassin: >.> Imma turn invisible and gank you, noob. <=(I hate sins.)

It is physical damage. You will find that it is reduced by defense as well as PvP reduction. With 10k soulforce you will only do about 1k to 1.5k soulburn damage. Not very strong but it's worth using on people to stop them from attacking for a few seconds.

It is our defining skill IMO.
Minus defense values and (when applicable) -75% in PvP.

It's far from our defining skill, as it's never vital to fighting except when trying to kill a cleric through Ironheart spam. It's good to have, but not a necessity otherwise.

It's more of an opportunity attack anyway. A hitman-type skill. When the target doesn't see it coming, that's when you let them have it. Otherwise, you'll just eat a stun/silence for trying, as the skill is too flashy for its own good. Tide Spirit doesn't save it much either, because if you get stunned during the 2.2 seconds it takes to use Tide Spirit, GG. Smart opponents watch for this kind of stuff.

That being said, in group PvP or TW there tends to be a lot happening at once, which allows you to toss it out there and succeed providing that you aren't careless.

I just call it our defining skill because of its name. I think the same thing about psychic will too =P.

Once again, It s not phys >.<
Soul of Vengeance is phys not soulburn.
Soulburn is a soulforce type of dmg, in another way an amount of dmg you take reduced only by pvp reduction and def lvl.

Use it on another player and post screenies of your soulforce and the damage from soulburn. If it's only affected by PvP reduction, then damage should always be 1/4 of your soulforce. If it's affected by physical defense as well, then it's usually at around 1/8 or less. Another thing that supports the fact that it is physical damage is when you use it on mobs. There's no PvP reduction and no defense levels on mobs, yet you will not do your soulforce in damage on them because mobs have defense.
