Mdef ornaments?

NOTE: Before anything, I wanna mention this character is leveled very casually; please do not start talking about endgame things.

My BM (primarily fists, but will have all paths) is 37 and equipped with two mdef ornaments. Is this something I should keep doing, or are the benefits in the early game negligible?

In my opinion keep doing it. I think mobs around that level start hitting with magic, like those mobs outside Secret Passage.

I went phys def ornaments. As a fister, you have two interrupts for magic casters, so hybrids shouldn't be able to cast on you. And you'll want to grind on phys mobs if any, I skipped mag only mob quests, as they are annoying and end giving less xp even counting the quest reward.

Just use shadowless or roar of the pride, and mag def ornaments are pretty worthless for most of your grinding/questing needs. Only end game or pvp will you need either 1 or 2 mag def ornies.
Fist are the worst at PvP AND PvE, if you disagree, as I said, take it to PM's or make your own guide. Go here if you want to debate about it. - Lyndura

Get a High lvl Fist warrior use it, Restat to axes. GG - complexx

At 37 your only concerns should be ornaments with good added stats. It really won't matter what they are, pdef, mdef or even evasion if they have good added stats such as +hp or +vit. Any of the lower ornaments won't really offer much of anything in regards to protection and you won't ever (or even shouldn't) be bothered to refine. Just stick with quest rewards and mob drops. The difference these gears make at earlier levels isn't really all that significant.
I post in forums. This one and others. That's why I post.

Hm, thanks for the input. At what level would you say I should start worrying about elemental defense?

Your first painful experience will be the magic mobs around Kings Feast / Valley of Disaster... Even with mdef ornaments you'll have a tough time with a couple of the shrunken/pyrogoth quests that you might just want to sit on for a few levels. They kite and try to pull you into other mobs... the air mobs at 7x were kinda painful too. So start looking for better gear when you hit 5x-6x I would say.

Cube of Fate and Warsong ornaments are good.
