why is it that people whine about venos, but never bother to make one for themselves? too lazy to bother? just easier to fuss about it here, and whine on WC, i guess.b:irritated[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Exactly what I do not understand about people. All classes have their pros and cons, ups and downs. People are too blinded by the whole competition factor of who is best and better in terms of class and always only look at pro side. :P[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
Thank you so much ForsakenX for the sig b:cute0 -

That's what lazy venos do. b:bye
Nope. Not counting people with Hercs (as I don't know how powerful these really are), killing a "boss", even if I'm 20 levels ahead, requires me to healspam. If I add anything inbetween to speed things up, pet is dead and so am I, unless I'm really lucky on the getting-away part.
This is a matter of level difference, of course. I can't solo any boss at the correct level, and I don't really want to wait even more levels just to be able to add offensive spells. When available data suggests that I might be able to deal with a boss, I try it.
EDIT: I don't usually get to try normal boss quests simply because they expire before I can even think about trying them. Level difference isn't just a matter of waiting a level or two. It means waiting a very long time and not getting any drops, so I want these done when I can do them, not when I can do them fast.
I also went into the wraithgate bascially when I got the first quest, just to see how it works out. Lots of healspamming too. Back then I decided to try (don't know whether all three types can be found before a boss blocks progress) that "kill 20 of these and 20 of those and 20 of the other guys too" quest a bit later --- excessive healspamming on normal monsters means I'll be running into problems with damage enhanced ones.
I don't have a herc; soloing anything but normal world monsters isn't really possible.
The other thing is indeed a "lazy" part. I don't like using potions. Depends a bit on the environment, but if I'm not getting into 2 or 3 -monster situations too often (which tends to require a good deal of healing) I can keep going "forever" if I stay away from offensive spells. I do like throw Ironwood on Enhanced Defense or Enhanced Life monsters, might even Venomous them, but this is a already a big dent in the mana bar.Slow progress, game is getting way too grindy :-( Quests I still hope to be able to do some day: FB39, General Feng0 -
1: Teach pet tough.
2: Use tough right before doing whatever you plan to speed things up.

Maybe you don't understand what I meant by "Lazy veno"
I'm talking about venos who hide behind their pet all day long and do nothing but that.
They basically rely on their pet.
They aren't an asset to a squad, and would probably cause squad wipes. maybe could be called aka stupid veno. -.-
What you explain isnt lazy at all. If you have to spam heal, then spam heal. But if you can actually throw on an attack or amplify damage, then do it.
Im guessing you have a magmite, or glacial walker. They aren't so hard to handle.
I think every veno should learn how to handle these pets or even squishier ones, before they get a herc, and every veno should learn to not rely on the pet so much.
>.> try going out and grinding without a pet for about 15-30 mins one day. You'll learn alot about your survivability. What you can, and can't handle.>.<0 -
I have to call for veno every time I get Blackhole Devourer for OHT daily , I'm jealous0

lol, tbh, as a cleric, you should be able to tank him. His magic attacks hit out way less on my herc than its physical attacks, and yes this would be fully buffed too.>.<0 -
a cleri with decent gear can tank it but will take alot more since that boss is lvl 150... so depends on weapon refine0
-
I "can" tank him , I just do pathetic damage at "?" boss . While herc and fenix do full . Not to mention amount of pots I'll nom before I finish him .0

Which makes a ranged pet not a bad tank.Be kind: Help the GMs to depopulate the servers.0 -
True is does, but i do think its weird that its magic attacks do less damage than its physical attacks.
tweakz does have a point though, a ranged pet would be a good tank there. but, should the pet have a protect buff, to increase its magic def? and also would the herc still do more damage, and be easier to handle?.... since i can just pull my herc back to quickly cast amplify>.<0 -
yes a herc does more damage because it has better atk poer and atk speed plus it can reflect up to 5k damage iirc. yes, get your herc back and cast amplify then send him back, thats what everyone do0
-
Okies, thats what i do anyways. Just making sure my gut feeling was right. :P>.<0
