Genies: the point of them?

i don't see the point of genies. I see them as a giant XP leech. why are they existent?

    First thing you can use spirit or exp stones for genies to lvl them up as well followed by useing your exp (witch is the worst thing to do to lvl a genie).

    Second thing they are use to Aid you in fights ether in PvP or PvE. (But it counts by what skills you put on it since most of the genie skills are no good).

    ....Well, normally they're not effective in your early levels. I only started discovering how useful a Genie is at level 60. Some people even later. They're good in TW and PvP for healing skills if no cleric is around to keep track of your HP which normally happens and Holy Path is a great skill that gives you the ability to run faster. Also, some people use it for attacks too and find it helpful.

    From what I've seen, Genies don't gain EXP from the EXP your character acquires.
    New Genie System
    EXP Gaining with Genie has been changed so that Genies can now gain EXP while you kill monsters or hand in quests. Each Genie, while equipped, will gain 10% of the total XP gained. This is in addition to the EXP your character gains (Your character will not gain 10% less EXP). When your Genie reaches the same level as your character, and the Genie reaches 99% of its current level, the 10% EXP gain will be disabled. The old method of infusing EXP or Spirit, or the EXP cubes still remain.

    The point of genies is to use Expel to rob other users of a world boss. That is all. Or use zeal to lure.
    There once a time when I cared about getting to the top quickly as possible to help others. Now, I take it slow, and don't worry about having nothing to do. There's always something to do in an MMORPG, especially if you are high level. PK'ing is for those who desire to inflate their egos. True friendship comes from helping one-another, rather than to start rivalries.

    It takes 315300 Mysterious Chips to make one warsoul weapon, if you have a 100% success rate.

    PVP is for jerks anyway, who love to make people QQ and ragequit the game. It's why I chose a PVE server.

    Yeah, especially when I had to quest while in PK mode; got killed 3 times when I went to Orchid Temple. So I decided to wait in archo for 10 hours (yes, you have to stay LOGGED IN for ten hours.)

    Yes u__u;; In Orchid Temple, the amount of people getting PK'ed is crazy. Everytime I go there, I find people attacking each other.

    When I was a lower level at my 20's, I believe. I had a quest there and I didn't know what is PK and what are those red/pink names.. I stayed behind a tree waiting for them to leave because I thought they are ebil people. XDDDD In the end, I never returned my quest and went to sleep until later the next day... b:chuckle

    Genies are very useful.
    They can be used to as a last resort heal or to boost your speed to the max.
    Or you can use them to inflict massive damage to players if you choose the right skills

    As much as I find PVP more enjoyable on fighting games, you are right.

    As far as people going to PVE servers who don't like getting killed is false. I don't care if someone try to PK me, I won't even fight back. Eventually they just figure I'm just not bothered as a KOS list because I only do action in PVE b:laugh

    On topic:
    Genies are OP, nuff said, leveling with exp, ok... but with spirit from 1-99, ok your just gimping yourself over a genie. EXP stones... yeah, only from quests. Besides, its better to raise them with exp till 99 anyways b:pleased. I only use genie for a huge emergency, other than that, pfft...

    PvE servers give jerks the ability to follow you around everywhere on the world map, KS you, harass and stalk you without any repercussions while hiding behind protected status.

    Every server has it's flaws of course. I'm not saying that PvP is for jerks only, even PvE has jerks too. b:surrender

    There are two words I want to say about genies: Ewwwww munchkins.

    Jokes aside, I never used them sinks of exp, spirit or chi stones, myself. Equips are a plain luxury, like if you bought a Rolex or a Louis Vuitton bag at your local snob store.
    And those lucky points, urgh... are quite a cruel system. Should your pixie... ahem... fairy... ahem... genie should be low on them, they are deemed 'lame' and are soon offered as a sacrifice to the altar.

    And thus this happens:

    Lil' munchkin: The altar? Are we getting married, Master? Wheee, this is the best day of my life!

    You: Not this altar dummy, you are going to become a cube of experience to feed to another genie, because you were cursed by Lady Luck. Curse her for your inevitable fate!

    Lil' Munchkin: Oh, no Master, why did I do to you, this is too cruel ! Nooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!

    *R.I.P. Lil' Munchkin*

    Nope, my genies are still around my chars. They did not serve as merchandise (shame on you if you used them as slaves to trade) and I just leave them around as ummm, mascots?

    I know, more skills and an overall better chance of survival on the battlefield, but I am doing okay already, so I do not need to repair what is not broken. And so, no food for the munchkin.

    P.S.: The munchkin window ticks me off, even on minimized mode. So I put it far, in a place where I cannot be blocked on the view. The PWI's UI is so crowded already.

    SerenityMare, as much as I dislike PvP servers because there are some jerks there does not mean everyone there is. Some wanted a challenge and do not bully others all day.
    Besides there ARE jerks in PvE ones. No, don't look at me like that, I am not one of them.
    That said, I would not set foot in any PvP server because I don't need that dose of adrenaline and our favorite scythe-user (the Reaper if you did not guessed yet or did not care), I don't really want to meet in a MMORPG.

    So generalizing and defaming is not good, eh.

    Agrees, I don't understand why people say everyone on PvP servers are jerks that only pick on lowbies, everyone is different in there own way, and i'm positive that there are jerks on PvE servers because I seen some nice people on LC. b:surrender

    Never used one? - Sorry, but you could possibly make serious coin just by equipping one for a while then selling it.

    The benefits of one are more apparent in later levels. Chi stones don't come as easy at lower levels, and genie's abilities aren't as powerful as well.

    Genies offer cheap heals, faster speed, faster killing, etc that can save you time and coin if used right.

    Even if you don't use one, it would be stupid to not have one at least equipped.
    Be kind: Help the GMs to depopulate the servers.

    Do not worry, I was on my usual witty mood (not trolling, but annoying others just a bit).
    As for PW games, they are awesome. You should PM me for that, if you will.

    I meant not using them in any circumstances, be it in battle or outside of it. That said they are equipped on my characters indeed. And now that they gain their own experience, no matter how little it is, it's even better of a deal.

    As for the benefits of a genie, I know them somehow, but I do fine without them, once again, and money never was an issue. Check my own old thread/poll on battle styles if you are bored. I know it's buried not too far away from the first page. b:laugh
