Restored computer might have undone updates?

Hi there. I recently had some problems with my Asus computer and my boyfriend restored the hard drive to its state about a week ago. While this was taking place, I uploaded PWI on his computer, which had an update available and played my character there. After the restoration had been completed, I've tried to play the game, but there was no update for me, which I thought was a bit odd. When I try and log into the game, I get the message "game version not updated. Please exit and update to try again" or something similar, I can't remember.

Was it because my computer was restored that the updates were countered and I can't play? I've tried verifying the game and looking for updates. I don't know how to manually update and I hate opening sensitive programs. Is there anyway to counter this or should I download the game client again? Please help and thank you!

Try using the Verify button on the launcher.

Did the Verify button not fix the problem?

I had the same issue, just verify it. I think the file that reflects your version is treated as a document file instead of a program file. System restore does not affect documents, so while your game rollbacked to the previous version, the log that kept the version number did not. So while your client is too old to connect to the server, the patcher/launcher shows that its up-to-date, so it won't update.

For future references, if you're going to do a System Restore on your hard drive, copy pasta the PWI folder into the "My Documents" folder or something... flash drive/external works too. After the restore, just copy pasta the things back to the PWI folder
