This isn't a QQ thread, it's a serious suggestion to the developers.

The game economy fails. Seriously. Sure we all know why, because of the notorious packs putting up the price of gold and all; but that shouldn't actually matter if the players
are able to gain enough coins to cope with the flux of the gold prices.

Sure this isn't a problem for those who buy the gold, but as a free to play game you have a responsibility to also cater for your free players base, otherwise the balance of the game will tip to the gold buyer and the free players will mostly leave and economy will spiral out of control ridiculously whilst the rich battle out gold prices between themselves.

I agree that things like levels, money, legendary gear and ect shouldn't be easy to gain in a game, but they shouldn't be absurdly hard either. I'm not complaining here, i've been both a gold buyer and a free player. I'm not buying anymore because even if I do I still can't keep up with the flux and the constant additions to the CS.

You've got heaps of coin sinks in the form of many thousand daily quests, repairs, charm costs and DQ price reductions but hardly any leniance towards being able to MAKE decent coins to being with. I really have to sympathize with the new players just starting, things were much more simple in the open beta.

Another thing I just wanted to adress was the daily quests themselves. It's nice that we're getting more and exp is a bit easier.. but really? Some of them are ridiculously hard, time consuming or coin consuming. They don't really have to be as long winded as they're coming out, something as simple as crazy stone is nice. Not all players have the luxury of being able to do them all.

I guess my point is keep expanding on the game, but keep things simple and the economy in check, that's what really kills the game for alot of players. Give the free players a little more edge to cope with the gold price flux if you can't reduce the cost per gold.

I started playing in Nov-Dec 2008, and I agree that it must be a lot different experience for a new player now than it was back then.

I've also noticed that lately there has been a noticeable shortage of new players. I imagine its partly due to disgruntled veteran players spreading word-of-mouth reviews about much of the dissatisfaction and frustration that has arisen with recent game developments, but I'm willing to bet a lot of it is due to the focus on cash shop profits with little regard to impact and repercussions.

This worries me, because I still like to play the game, regardless of what happens as far as developments, economy, updates, etc. Granted, a lot of the things do annoy me, and there are things I disagree with. However, these things will not make me quit playing the game. What will make me quit is if so many other players leave without enough new players to replace them.

The majority of fun that I (and probably most players) get from the game comes from interaction with friends and random people. If the game's population declines far enough, the fun factor will decrease right along with it. Also, profits will trickle to a stop. I think that whoever is in charge should seriously consider the long-term impact of some of their decisions. I think that they sort of interpret some of the suggestions/complaints as coming purely from our own self-interest and sense of entitlement. The truth is that people notice a sinking ship, and try to call attention to the leaks.

I know everyone is different, but as for myself, I'm neither a "Cash-Shopper" nor a "Free-Player". In the year and a half I've been playing, I've spent a total of USD 330 for my character, my son's character, and my GF's character. That might as well be couch-cushion change compared to some players I know of. Yet regardless of the amount of money one chooses to spend or not, I bet the mentality behind the choice is the same. You play the game, you enjoy it, and over time you become enough attached to it to feel comfortable with supporting it financially. So the "Free-Player" is the seed which grows into the paying customer. If new players or free players who have been members for a time are now being alienated due to the current status quo, then PWE is setting itself up for failure.

First, just less or no gain in new revenues from new players. Then, ultimately, the trickling off and dying out of the current paying customers (even though they may be satisfied with the situation as it stands currently). This is what seems to be the direction PWI will take if player suggestions and complaints are not taken more seriously, and some respect shown for the community as a whole, not only Cash-shoppers.
