An attack pet

I have a lv 86 glacial walker with bash lv 5, flesh ream level 5, and also roar and tough. I use this glacial for tanking, and it works great. The problem is that it tends to take aggro when I'm not the one doing the tanking, so in this situation I don't use bash, just its default attack and flesh ream.

I think I could contribute better to the squad if I had a dedicated attack/debuff pet. What would be a good choice? I did some research and the scorpion seems to have one of the greatest attacks. The eldergoth marksman seems to have decent attack too, and since I have one for luring, maybe I could make it more useful.

So, do you think the eldergoth marksman could do well as an attack pet? Or should I have a 3rd land pet? I cannot afford an herc now.

And what about skills to use in this situation, for instance in TT or BH when there's a barb tanking the boss? I thought about skills like Flesh Ream, Howl, Threaten, Pierce. Would that be good?

Scorpion has a good attack yeh and it seems that the dark wanderer is pretty good too. The marksman is ranged, but I don't know if it has great attack.

    59 marksman: patk 1597 @ .5 atk/sec
    59 walker: patk 1568 @ .6 atk/sec
    59 varicose scorpion: patk 1635 @ .6 atk/sec

I could give you figures for level 80, but I'd have to switch chars/servers. Sorry, don't have figures for the wanderer or seamonster (another fairly high attack pet, with better mdef than the wanderer.)

The times to use the Marksman for a DD pet is when the boss is doing short range AoE because it can avoid the AoE and free you up to DD more instead of heal.

Flesh Ream is an applied skill and all applied skills generate considerable aggro whether doing damage or not. (Stop using Ream if you're not tanking)

The most useful debuff you can put on a pet is probably Howl, but I mostly use that just for the summoners in FF when the cleric isn't using Elemental Seal. You need a great aggro holder to use it otherwise.

Dark Wanderer and Scorpion are great DD pets in their own ways.

Thank you all for the suggestions.

Let me clarify that I want this pet for DPS inside instances, especially when there is a BM or lower level barb tanking, and my crystal's bash level 5 would steal aggro. So I want a pet that will add it's own DD and have 4 avaliable skills to help with DPS or debuff.

I think I'll go for the dark wanderer, because I always loved how it looks. b:pleased

If you don't want aggro DON'T use applied pet skills. -Simple as that. Those skills generate more aggro than the difference in dps. Debuffs in squad are done by you, cleric, bm, barb, wiz, archer, etc: rarely pet.
