Do i seem like a fail cleric?

Okay so i was doing a BH51 today and we were trying to get wyvern. I am usually very uneasy when in a squad that does not hav a tank( i dont know if its just me). The squad had 2 venos (no hercs if ur wondering) a bm, the cleric which is me and an archer. The first time we tried I caught aggro and died and then they all died. I came back rezzed everyone, then i died because i was trying to stay close to the squad. Qhen i came bac agen, I whispered to one of the members and a who is a friend of mine if we should just stop now and continue when we have a tank, no reply from her. (NB: i am a very squishy cleric, even spamming IH doesnt save me sometime).
When i came back to the cave the second time some walkers respawned and i couldnt take them on by myself. The bm died while coming to escort me, so she had to go bac to town then come back to cave. At this time one of the venos left because it was too much. Me and the bm made our way up to the last veno and the archer. When we finally made it to the boss we wanted which was wyvern, the archer said do i know how to bb..i paused...then i said yes. He said okay we have to do that or else we die. I told him i dont think it will work.

(when i said that, at the same time i remembered when i was in a TT 2-1 and the aoe of one of the bosses still killed me while another cleric was bb'ing, it is not that the bb doesnt work. It is that i know my char and i know that i do not have enough hp to do bb. When i say that i mean even with bb it doesnt not regain hp fast enough to allow me to "stay alive". I simply have to little hp.)

Maybe i was dumb and should have said no, i will IH BM and IH myslef in between so that i can stay alive, but as usual i followed what ppl said and the party wiped for the second time.

The question is: Am i a fail cleric based on what you have read, I need ur advice, because I am seriously contemplating scrapping cleric and maybe even starting a tank. I already have a good knowledge of what a tank is and the build i should follow. If your convinced that I am not a fail cleric, then I will continue as one.

And how do you have BB if you are not level 59? Unless your avatar level is wrong...

Anyways....like I said...sounds like an overall fail squad.

There is no reason with 2 venos, Melee DD that can stun and Ranged DD that can stun that you should have even been touched by mobs, unless you followed too closely.

Do you have a maxed Ironheart? If I remember right, IH has enough range to keep you outside wyvern's AoE by the time you start doing BH51. You just need to go inside AoE to cast purify on tank and run back ASAP.

Also, an average DDer should know when to stay outside mobs aoe ranges. Everyone know your primary mission is to keep tank alive. The rest can just **** off if they aren't too smart.

Exactly...
How much HP do you have? I think you should be able to take a couple of hits from the walkers, even if you can (obviously) not tank them. Taking a couple of hits would give you a chance to use a genie, pot and IH yourself a bit, which would give you time to get outta there...

all my buffs are maxed plume shot , cyclone and especially IH are maxed. I have done wyvern before and survived with less hp than I have now but until I can get my hp up to a place where i am comfortable a squad without a tank that can keep aggro is more than likely a fail for me and I am not redoing a cleric..ever

with tank buffs I hav 2000+ hp so yeah i could hav taken about 3 or 4 hits so i could IH but without barb buff I am 1600+ so 2 hits will kill me, which is not enough time for IH to kick in

Well since BH51 is for level 6x then I assume the avatar is wrong.

To OP: My honest opinion is that while you don't fail there's definitely room for improvement. The fact that you know your own limits and weaknesses is good so since you say you have too little HP then you should get a few citrines and/or refine your armor a bit (not too much, +3 at most). I'd go with garnets though since Rankar and Wyvern both have a physical AoE (and you can buff your own p.def instead of needing a barb to buff you) but that's just me.

Using BB at Wyvern isn't a good idea unless there's another cleric since his debuff will really hurt the tank and needs to be purified. A BM or barb can tank Wyvern with only BB (I've seen it done several times actually) but there's about a 30-40% chance of failure from my experience (and I've done way too many BH51s). If that's acceptable for you then go ahead and BB but I feel safer on my BM when a cleric uses IH and SoR with purify (my barb just kinda invokes and takes the hits). And don't forget to use chromatic healing beam every now and then when you think the tank can go without heals for a few seconds.

I'm nowhere near as pro as some other clerics but I like to think I'm fairly decent at playing them. I've kept most of my squads in one piece despite a few close calls and there have been a few times (very few) where I screwed up badly and caused a squad wipe. ^_^

Don't refine 6x gear >.>

Plume Shell works great in a pinch and a pot or too just in case.

Besides...like you stated: If you have done this before with no issue....might tell you something.

Giving up and re-rolling to tank go ahead, but there are a whole different set of issues that can arise with tank as well as any class.

i do not like to feel like a coward, I hav always heard people say cleric is the most difficult class and that persons who make it thus far deserve props. A cleric was the very first character I made when i just started pwi and i failed it miserably. I redid and behold Cookie_Doe. I am surprised i made it as far as 61 and I would like to continue..but sometimes it become a bit much... especially when some jackass told you not to add vit period. It also the feelings I get when the squad has failed more than one time, you have to wonder if there is something wrong with "YOU" because your the one who is supposed to be keeping everyone alive.

lol yes that is true, but if i will continue with my cleric. I dont think i will be doing anything without a tank until i can get some more hp, except for bh39. I hav done bh39 countless times without barb and survived. The mobs in there dont hit me as hard.

Eh, basically what Reds said, if you've done the BH before with no problems then the problem probably isn't with you (at least not completely). Make it a habit to check the gear of everyone in your squad. Check the HP of the person who's tanking. If a squad wipe happens then laugh it off and keep playing.

Of course, if playing a cleric stops (or stopped) being fun then play another class (which is what you're doing). If you still like playing a cleric then ignore what anyone says and get better at your class. The best way to spit in the face of someone who insults you is to improve yourself. b:cute

Just wait until TT/HH runs

As a Cleric you will need to know about every single class, more so then any other class.

You are right,this squadron is not properly harmonized.
There is no way to overcome BH 51 with it, there should be at least 1 Barb or 1 more Cleric or high lvl BM either Veno with Herc. The squad could be filled also. You knew that and did not act accordingly (that was your mistake as for the rest of ppl), but it doesn't make u a fail one. Be strong for the next time, and make assert your opinion to the group so your task doesn't fail again.
I see a very skilled Clerics wipe out because of it.

So, keep your way forward, believe in your intuition. I wish u health and prosperity!

My BM at 6x tanked all 3 BH51 bosses with 1 low 6x cleric. Several times.

Yeah, a barb would have been safer to go with since the larger HP bar means they're more forgiving when the cleric is late with purify but a decent cleric (barring lag) wouldn't have any issues with that. A second cleric would have also been nice but likewise not needed.

Edit: That is, of course, assuming that the tank and cleric are both competent.

Fail Tank + Fail Cleric = Squad wipe
Good Tank + Fail Cleric = High chance of squad wipe
Fail Tank + Good Cleric = 50% chance of squad wipe
Good Tank + Good Cleric = Small chance of squad wipe (because **** happens)

I correct myself, u are a regular white guy BM, that Cleric was a really good one, believe me.
U maybe not aware of all of the Cleric must to deal while a BM is tanking. For u it is simple to say: -I tanked!-, but it not so simple for my class.

Party wipes happen. To me it seems like maybe you had a fail squad. If you know what you need to do in order to keep people alive, ignore what fail characters say. You shouldn't scrap a character because of one bad experience.
...and tbh, being a tank aint all that different from being a cleric. You gotta keep aggro so that squishies dont get hit. You're basically protecting everyone so that the cleric doesnt have to get flustered from healing too many people at once.
If you want to try another character, by all means go ahead, but you don't need to delete this one.

I am also think that squad is fail squad <.<
If they type is " Charge !! " all the way, while expecting cleric keep their life up.

Once before i am playing a psychic for bh fushma, rankar, and wyvern.
I dunno what actually happen (since most people there not talking at all). . but after we killed fushma and rankar half of the squad leave.
Leaving me and 2 cleric, the male cleric decided to log in his barb (6x) then help us with wyvern.
It's awesome seeing these two able to fight wyvern, especially because the barb trying to make us safe from wyvern aoe.

If you asking what i am doing, i am just stand behind the cleric then heal her if aoe hit us. b:surrender
Or do my DD job.

Note for edit : Giving info for barb gear.
He using citrine on all his gear, no refine yet but i guess he was vit tank barb.

as above posters said, party wipes happen, fact of pwi life, dont let it discourage you, if you really feel ur that squishy though, farm coin or cashshop, whichever you like, and get a reset note and add more vit, or just get better vit gear, besides, as the others also said, the sqaud sounds kinda fail anyways

with the amount of HP you have you should have enough time to give you self 1 IH in between healing the tank and yourself.
if you can throw some heal to other people great..

KEEPING A SQUAD ALIVE IS NOT ONLY THE CLERIC'S JOB.
BUT MOST PLAYER ARE TOO STUPID TO UNDERSTAND THAT.

if you ever watch carefully lot player are too dam cheap to use simple thing as HP pots to heal themselves when in a squad with a cleric or even a wiz that willing to heal.
now after they dead they b itch and whinn why they died.

sorry to say that I have see more stupid players in this game then skill players.
1 aoe from wyern you should be able to keep yourself alive from 1 IH.
cause he dont aoe back to back so fast.
just purify the whatever tank that is there and hoping that tank dont sux 4zz.

rest of the n oobs in the squad should know the fight, if they dont well they dead.
even after an aoe from the boss they can take some hp pots to keep most of their hp up so the second aoe wont kill them.
then the cleric have some time to toss some IH all over. and you dont really want to run in there to do a group aoe heal.

BUT that would require player that have some brain cells, and acutally want to stay alive be useful to the squad. not just point finger when THEY SUX 4zz.
