    It's not too late to accept it. It's the fact and only fact that remains as a BM, lol. It's sad and annoying to see nubs who still deny it and claim sage>=demon BM.

    Hum I just checked Sage VS Deamon for Sword BM and guese what "Sage" is better.
    Why?---Sage gives more addon's as defence ,gives beter Chi(reduces it),and adds aditional damage.
    As for Demon it gives Critt rates,chanelling and better area affect(long range).
    As laggy game you will not even notice the chaneling at all.
    Better get Deffence and chi monkey infront of Crit master of 1% more

    Endgame if you're not fist and you're not demon you're pretty much just worthless unless you go vit build axe BM for tw only. Only way you're going to do anything useful as pure axe/spear/sword or sage BM is if your gear is better.
    Wondering how much longer these **** packs are going to be around.

    Of course we need Sage BMs = Buff Monkey and Dragon slaves. Cause it would be rude to expect a demon BM to dragon for another demon BM. We only do it as a courtesy.

    O.o i seem to remember a time when being fist (I take that back, being anything that wasn't axe and spamming skills) was epic fail. Now being non-fist is epic fail?

    ^^ Exactly.

    Most BMs who hit 79 way before any packs came out went sage because the thought of getting most of your lvl 11 skills was basically a pipe dream.

    You know, sage or demon or w/e . Sage is meant for survivability, demon is meant for being agile.

    I'm obviously going sage because of better defenses, better power which will suit my playstyle into enduring hits and dealing more constant damage. + I don't see the need to get more stuns when I can stun lock fine with Aeolian Blade and roar of the pride (will get drake bash and heavens flame in later levels b:victory)

    I don't need to be demon just for crit (dragon bane I suppose adds 25% crit for 30 secs) My crit rate would be 32% at LVL79 by LVL100 thats 40% bonus crit rate without being demon. The P.ATK penalty can be cured by spark obviously. which means sages have better damage over demon with mastery with this kind of build I have.

    Event gear was around, just nobody wanted to farm that much to get it. All that packs did was make the gear more affordable.

    How did you get an Energetic Robe:Lunar Glade, Love:Up and Down/Pan Gu: Creator, or Nirvana leggings before september of last year (the time when fists started to not suck)?

    Without those, you're stuck at 3.33/second wearing full tt99HA + LA and Lunar claws (gl getting tt100), with the "crappy" cultivaton of demon.

    Pan Gu: Creator can be crafted, it just takes a hell of a lot of pages and fragments (~930 pages if memory serves).

    Skills affect a lot too. Mastery increases DPS, there's other skills that help a lot with possible damage spikes and Drake Bash lasts longer + Roar is reliable.


    Gear?
    Weapon: Frost/lunar/hh100... none of these were easy to get at all. Before packs came out you could count the cv weapons around on pwi on one hand probably. Lost city had like... one lunar bow. Maybe a wand, not sure when the first was made. That was it.
    Cape: None of them were available at the time
    Tome: None of them were available at the time
    Nirvana pants: Not available


    So the max interval you could get without spending a TON of money (please keep in mind that the economy back then was different as well, CV weapons were insanely expensive) was random claws/fists with -0.05 and hh99. That's -0.25 total which results in 2.22 base and 2.86 triple sparked. Good for PvE? Yes, but nothing's going to die to that in PvP at 9x. You'd have to triple spark... good luck with that without genie support. Maybe zerk fists, which would end up in 2.00 base and 2.86 triple sparked, but back then nobody thought it was worth wasting belial golds on anything but GX, considering even those were rare.

    This was the pwcalc of my goal bm back when I played on harshlands. At the time there were only 2 GX's on harshlands and only 2 lunar weapons on lost city. This is what I was shooting for. Note that the claws alone would have taken at least 3 weeks of farming, no 2x drop, no easy cv and little amount of 9x players. That gear back then would be like a good geared player now.

    Also notice, no demon marrow, no demon buff, no mastery bonus, no 11 hp/str buff. At that time people having one level 92 skill was rare(i used to be the only archer with OWingspan for a while). Back then with my +8 GX I had no problem killing people my level, fists weren't needed as the little bit more vit was nice for low refines. People picked sage for the chi as the 3 fb89 blademaster skills blow etc...

    Umm... you couldn't craft lvl 6 tomes until very recently. They were added some time after the initial TB release.

    Also, event gear wasn't around back then. Nobody had actually farmed the highest grade of Forest Wisdom helm or 3rd map boots. You also said nobody wanted to farm it much. There were a number of people that had farmed close to 10,000 wraith eyes/spirits when anniversary packs first came out. People were getting close.
