Confused about weapon repairs!

What is the material needed for repairing shattered equipment? I've been trying all sorts of stones, but none of them are being accepted by the blacksmiths..! D:

    Is your weapon shattered (destroyed in PVP), or broken (durability reduced to 0 through normal wear and tear)? If broken, you only need coins, using the Repair or Repair All button on the blacksmith/tailor/merchant/apothecary's Goods screen.
