Confused about weapon repairs!

So, I'm sure this is the ultimate n00b question, but what is the material needed for repairing shattered equipment? I've been trying all sorts of stones, but none of them are being accepted by the blacksmiths..! D:

    Is it shattered (PvP, or dying with safety lock on I believe) or just broken (normal wear and tear, 0/X durability)?

    If it is the latter, you just need to open up the "trade goods" like normal and in the lower right there will be a "repair" and "repair all" button. Click repair and click your weapon. Only requires coins.

    I'm too much of a carebear to know anything about shattered gear =)
