Q about downloading perfict world

ok well i have downloaded it afew times and also on this comp and had it working but i just bought norton 2010 and instaled it on this comp and now i cant seem to get pw to open. i get to the start screen were it dose the updates and has the option that says start. when i click on it i get a error that isnt in english. is there any way for me to fix this ? i know my comp can run this game at all the max setings thats why im pretty sure it has somthing to do with norton antivirus 2010.

    or should i jsut uninstal it and try downloading it agein?

    Any paid antivirus or firewall is the worst kind.

    When I got this problem, it had to do with graphics drivers, I would double check all your drivers just in case.

    i did just have a new video card put in but it worked fine the day i got it back i just had to reinstal it because i wanted to clean up my comp abit and i did a systom recovery. would it be from the video card maby?

    Possibly. Make sure it's entirely up to date with all the latest drivers, and then run a verify on PWI.

    When I had that issue I updated everything possible for my computer, verified the game, and then it worked fine after that. It's possible that isn't your issue but it's worth a try.

    ya i tryed that out i think im going to uninstal it then instal it agein and opefully it will work this time

    Also, make sure your "antivirus" is really just that, and doesn't interfere with network traffic. If it does, do whatever is necessary to put PW on the whitelist.

    why.....why in god's name did you get NORTON?????


    Seriously! If your gonna waste cash on that piece of **** security, you need to go to here:

    At least they provide a security that isn't a piece of **** like norton does. (I had to have Geek Squad fix my computer that had over 160 viruses because Norton was a piece of **** my computer had pre-installed on it)








    As for why the game doesn't work. If you go to the technical form and post a screenshot of the non-english letters i'm positive Surtr will be able to help you :)

    well i figured this all out last night how to fix it i just had to go out befor the download was done so i didnt have time to post it. when u go to download pw if u scroll down a lil it says that u have to turn off SONAR protection. after u do that it will download easy. also if u have already downloaded files from pw make sure to click replace.

    i was going to get BitDefender Antivirus because its abit cheaper and it has the best rating that i know of but i was just like **** it i will get Norton 2010 because they didnt have it at the store i went to.also VIPRE was another one i was going to get but they didnt have it. those are the top 2 anti viruses of 2010 and norton is around top 4 to 5. u may not like it but if u look it up it is one of the better anti vs out there. also there are afew new fetures on norton 2010 that havent beren used like SONAR2 (Symantec Online Network for Advanced Response) it will help norton well if its trust worthy or not. idk to me you cant realy say Norton sucks because im pretty sure u have not had Norton 2010 witch is pretty new

    well.. norton seems to block things randomly and noone knows how it works exactly.. for me norton 2009 blocked a certain game... took me about an hour to put it on a list of some kind so it would stop scanning the damn game.
    (godthanks I convinced my parents that norton sucks.. so we have a diff securety thingy now .-. )
