Aoe grinding for wizards past 90?

I saw a video of Asterelle, a lvl 101 archer, who grinded in Old valley of the scarred on mobs with barrage. I don't have acces to OVS yet, so I wondered if there are other places a wizard can do the same with db? And what the requirends are?

Just wondering if grinding can be more fun than killing fish in 2 hits.

well, no. There is no other place u can do that on the map.
But I promised, and I already have the capture, that I'll put a youtube video with me in VoS, without buffs or anything, just AoE grind with a genie with Expel.
If I'm not doing that today,bug me with PMs until I do.

you can try cleric style..

lvl97 wood-dot-spiders with low hp somewhere north

although i didnt use db there


you have no purify (xept 10% chance on shell or 3spark)


i was there collecting mobs with holy path (maybe with the wood resistance genie skill on)
stunning with mountain seize hailstorm, phoenix
demon spark whenever there is chi(from healing) >purify< 1hit rest mobs
(oh sage is better here :P)

...i died sometimes when wood damage was over 1k (with 3,x hp) and healing still channeling >.<
...lots of dq drops



hmmm mobs lvl97 can be a problem with 90....
so much for soloaoegrinding :O

heaven/hell mobs HP is way to high for db+genie . team up with a cleric >.< (buffs ftw)

Okay that would be awesome. But can you suggest anything more fun than killing fish? Like bosses that are managable, solo'ing other stuff...

edit: Thanks Hex! I know indeed about those spiders, just that indeed they tend to kill me alot.. I dont have wood resistance on my genie though, but I will give it a shot again!

TBH, 3rd map was almost made for aoe grinding. The mobs there do very little damage and don't have much hp, and aggro like CRAZY. They are really close together and stuff, if you really want to grind you should work your way to 3rd map, it really isn't all that difficult.. and you'd be WAY better off grinding there than anywhere else.

Isnt that place way overcrowded then? Anyway thanks, I'll work on that map!

not on my server, you rarely see anybody in there.. everyone is in HH/frost/nirvana >.>

The only AOE grinding technique I've been somewhat successful at my level is starting with full chi, triple spark, then a hailstorm AOE to get another spark back and then dragon's breath.

I'll do this on bewitching beauties in heaven, mainly because i have maxed nullify poison, and they are often tightly clustered there.

I also have expel genie so this technique works for phys mobs too, but you have to start DB before you expel, because expel silences you.

However, I can only do 5 or 6 mobs at a time. They usually will get one hit in after the genie effect is gone. HP charm would help but not cost effective. If your sage you can get back to triple sparks rather easy and repeat.

max 2 ppl can aoe grind fine on the map3 place

bad are venos who lvl their pets there for countless hours
they keep mobs loong time (so they do not respawn)
...ks them until they leave for cube where they belong to lol ( i dont do that tbh )

pvp servers are different in grinding i guess :P
though you can lead all mobs into the small safe zone where u come from (safe looting :P)




i think i try afk aoe grinding in map3 in some corner with 5-10 mobs constantly respawning... rely only on 25% healing chance on db11 o.O ..mana waste ftw

i have had some sucess aoe grinding in demon map... i survive 6 mobs at once.
expel is a must of course, and event hp food just incase... i also equip my attendance att charm cos my wep WoDF is only +5.
died a few times getting used to it but now im fine

edit... u want to do as much damage as possible so fire mastery and DB maxed <<

np, as you can see you don't really need uber gear to do it.
Just a Expel on genie as long as possible. I think you can get about 9 sec at lvl 90 and 9.5 sec at lvl 95...something like that, can't remember exactly. Anyway, I'm not buffed, so if you go in there cleric+barb+BM buff you're going to have a much easier task. I recommend doing that at the beginning until you get the feel of it, or you're going to be surprised
The MP and HP pots you need to use at each pull are basically drops, so there is no loss in there.

seems like mobs can interrupt your DB when ure setting it up... you end up there with no DB, expelled >:P

Hi Hex, u came with a veno to help u? /jk . That might be a good idea to go with a lurer. Setup DB in the middle of the mob aread, and just let the other one lure/loot.

I never, ever got interrupted. Truth is lately I'm luring with the mount and I'm quite a bit in front of the pack...and 1-2 mobs that are "increase movement speed" that I usually set the DB on never interrupted me during channel. After is setup I don't think those mobs can interrupt you.
First runs in there I was grinding with ToP not Expel, so I was basically tanking all the hits. Never got interrupted.

Anyway, I'm still searching for that Sage DB....T_T

hmm maybe its cause my mount is not max speed and i laag a lot lately


uhm veno.. we were just bored and she got her herc recently...
so she lvled her lvl 6x herc on 5-10 mobs while i was aoe grinding on the rest

it starts to get boring by time ..alone :P (both pet lvling and aoe grinding)

yeah, 1h is the most I can stand doing that.
Then I need to do something else or take a break.
But still, now with 2x XP I can make 1.2% of lvl /hr or about 12% with hypers.
I'm mostly going in there for drops , so basically every wave I can pull is profit.

no one will change anything for the better, that's for sure.
GMs are already corrupt ... this game is moving in the same direction as the sister PW-MY went: total wipe, new servers (2 only). There is still some time ahead of us until then, but don't plan too long ahead.

Just asked a faction mate and he told me that at lvl 89 he got 60% (A bit more than 6mil exp) from 1 run using the 12x exp (13x exp considering the 2x event).

6 mil from 1 run that's not bad.
how many runs can you do with x12 active?

Why I'm asking this is because I want to see if I get better returns with a FC squad or solo grinding. I can make about 7.8-8 mil XP/hour solo grinding in map3.
If FC comes close to that, then there is no reason for me to ever step in FC again. I'm really curious and I don't know anyone that's running hyper FCs...all the people I know I could get reliable info from were endgame before hypers ..

4-6 runs during the 1 hour of 12x. I havent experienced it myself (or I wouldnt be stuck at 81 obviously b:surrender) but its what Ive heard. Depends on the squad and youre ability to pause at the right time I guess.

EDIT: Just found out ppl usually hyper only the first boss, the big room, the boss in there, the boss after that and the last boss. So if you only hyper the last 100k hp on bosses you can make that hour last for ~5 runs

EDIT2: Just talked with a lvl 101, hyper FC gives about 3-4 mil exp at his level so in the 1 hour of 12x exp he can get up to 24 mil exp (somehow O.o)
