Sutra...? Gonna assume you mean Tide Spirit.

Tbh, you really answered your own question. Increased crit chance is awesome, but its very luck dependant, as you stated. So, do you feel lucky when you fight?

I could give you some constructive ideas on the matter, but are you refering to their role in PvE or PvP?

Well, I'll say this about Demon Landslide in PvP scenarios:

    1) It's a 30% chance to give you the crit-boosting effect. Thus, this bonus effect from Demon Landslide won't be a factor 70% of the times you cast it.

    2) When the crit-boost does proc, it lasts for 4 seconds. If you plan to follow up with any combination skills out of the list of: Aqua Impact, Spirit Blast, Earth Vector; then you have the time to set-up two crits from two of those if you waste no time between them. The rest of our damage spells take around 3 seconds to deliver, so things like Aqua Cannon, Glacial Shards, Sandburst Blast, Red Tide, will only be affected for that one casting.

    3) We're still talking about a skill that has a 10m max range. You might not have the virtue of being this close to other magic users or archers. Melee opponents might be setting up a stunlock, so its risky against them if you don't time it well.

Am I saying it sucks? Of course not. But I am saying not to rely too heavily on it. It'll be a situational, short-lived advantage, and you shouldn't base the choice of Sage or Demon on just one or two skills. Go Demon if you like the other advantages it gives you, in addition to this.

As for Tide Spirit, this is more reliable in theory. The 20% crit-boost is supposed to last the entire 15 seconds (in addition to the weapon damage bonus), so your burst damage will be pretty good, unless you get unlucky and don't crit, but even then it still won't be terrible.

Now with all that being said, if you stack the effects, you're gonna seem like a god for the next 1-2 skills you cast. (Near-instant channel, +100% weapon damage, and +70% crit). Someone should die. It'll probably be rather rare for you to actually pull off the combination though.

Hope that helps you a little. I'm not a Demon Psy, so I can only give you examples of theory and logic.

i was actually wondering about that, how does demon landslide and tide spirit stack with their crit percentages? will you litterally have +70% crit?

Crit stacks additionally and not via multiplying the two. When something says +1% crit, it doesn't mean to take 1% of your current crit rate and add it on top, it means you gain 1% crit.

So yeah, a Psy that successfully casted both would have a minimum of 73% crit (1% crit on every character, another 2% from the demon element masteries). As ryu said, with that, 100% additional weapon damage and no channeling, you'd basically be a god for that time.

Think it's clear that a Demon Psy should be able to take down any possible target if the set up is right.

    crit bonuses dont stack....
Sins are Scissors. Psychics are Rocks.
Archers, Venos, Barbs, Wizards, BMs, Mystics, Seekers are Paper.
    ...and Clerics are Mushrooms.
Paper beats Rock. Scissors beats Paper. Scissors also happens to beat Rock...until Rock gets 50k+ soulforce at which point Rock becomes an unstoppable killing machine that beats Paper... and would beat Scissors but it can't find Scissors, because Scissors are invisible.
So Scissors beat Paper and avoids Rock, and that is called BALANCE. -cheze

They don't? I guess that makes sense... The odds are fairly good that the two effects would be represented by the same buff icon... In which case, he's right.

In that case, it changes the issue a bit there, since the 50% for 4 seconds would override the 20% for 15 seconds.

Either way though, I still find it impractical to rely on Landslide for that purpose, for the reasons I listed in my previous post.
