what an interval assasin is? and yes Ive done a search im not lazy :P

Ive found plenty of threads its just in the guides when im looking for advice on which skills to max, some say up this if you are going interval, but definitely do not if you are going skill spammer

now Im guessing a skill spammer is using skills only not really relying on dagger dmg

if thats right, I can also assume that interval is quite the opposite? relying mostly on dagger dmg

also what do you call someone who does both? im only lvl 39 at the moment, so usually when im mobbing I do something like this knife throw>tackling slash>rib strike>puncture wound>and then finish off with daggers due to most of the skills still in cooldown....

on mobs with increased life or increased defense i use knife throw>tackling slash>rib strike>puncture wound>deep sting>puncture wound>rib strike>finish with daggers if needed

So I guess what my main question is what am i at this point skill spammer? interval? or both

and a bit off topic to anyone who cares to take a minute to share: How do I most efficiently make use of my spark, whats the point aside from being invincible for 1 second?

Hmm It's hard to explain I guess... Someone correct me if this is wrong but the way i see to explain this is. A Interval Sin is someone who bases there gear on getting negative interval there for giving up some gear that would other wise give them crit or other skill.. you know what to cut the bull **** out? A skill sin will most likely just use an **** load of skills and work to increase the damage of those skills and a DPS sin will most likely us a skills like Demon spark and Frenzy to increase speed and damage and just hit away. Personally as a interval sin I wait till the BM im my party has Heavens Flame then I Demon Spark and use the Genie skill Frenzy... Not sure how far off track i got with this answer but there you go.

interval sin is a sin that chooses gear that has -interval over gear that may give something else like vit, dex, patt, pdef, anything. you rely on your attack speed AND dagger damage to kill your targets. that means when you still need to get good daggers and refine them.

skill assassins dont want any gear with interval. skill sins want gear that adds dex, patt, crit.

Note that dex, patt, crit are also wanted with interval sins but not at the cost of losing -interval gear

You mix up a couple of things here.
Dagger dmg influences every single attack, including that of skils (skils add extra dmg, somethines have some effect, like ribstrike).

What you are meaning by 'dagger dmg' is normal attacks. That button that stands on F1 hotkey by default, makes you do normal attacks. Most basic skils will continue with normal attacks after used.

-interval is a special add on some pieces of gear that reduces the time you take between 2 normal attacks (which mean you will attack faster) Normaly you attack 1,25 times every second, so 5 attacks every 2 seconds. With -interval gear you wiill attack faster, so say 1,50 attacks per second, which means 3 attacks every 2 seconds. This means you will do more dmg per second if you use normal attacks.
If you stack this -interval, you will use minimal skils and mostly normal attacks to do your dmg. The more -interval the higher your dmg per second will be.
    This is an interval sin.

A skill spammer is someone who mostly uses skils to do dmg. A sins skils are verry powerfull and can do alot of dmg, more than normal attacks without any -interval, but it costs alot of mana, so it's a costly tactic.
Sins have a special skil that makes them perfect skill spammers, chill of the deep. It reduces your attack speed massively, but that has no effect if you use only skils. This is because skils have channeling time and casting time, and are not effected by attack speed. Chill of the deep also increases your attack lvl, and each attack lvl increases your dmg by 1%. So +30attack lvl means you do +30% dmg, which is a total 130% of dmg. This means your skils do even more dmg.

So that's 2 paths a sin can choise from. Either stack a massive amount of -interval gear (which is massively expencive, but with enough it's horrribely strong), or don't bother with attack speed and get yourself a stack of mp pots and make sure you can cycle your skils in such a way that you don't use a single normal attack (cause that will gimp your dmg massively cause of chill of the deep attack speed).

However, these are the 2 extremes. Ofcourse an interval sin just always plays the same, but it is an endgame build as most of the games -interval gear is endgame gear.
On the same lvl a skil spammer is pritty mp heavy so is only really used to that max for PvP.

In general grinding and such a skill spammer will usually use a spark, a chi gain skill, maybe ribstrike, and than normal attacks.

wow, cool thanks alot for the information. was very helpful, now I think I have a better understanding on how to set my sin up, at least as far as where I am at now.

thanks again to all of you
