Pet keeping aggro?

I just got a Seamonster Guardian pet today, since I found out they have pretty good DPS at high levels, and I'm trying to level it up on lower-level mobs...but it can't hold aggro .
The mobs keep attacking me instead of the Guardian...is that just because I'm a much higher level, so I'm doing a ton more damage on them than I normally would against mobs my level?
Or is it because it doesn't have any attacks strong enough? I haven't replaced either of its attacks that it had when I got it...if I did, would it hold aggro more? I thought Flesh Ream sounded pretty good...maybe I was wrong >.<.
Any advice you could give me is great ^^. I really don't like almost dying when I'm trying to level him on mobs ten levels below me >.>.

You're losing aggro at level 26?! Wow.
Yes, it'll partly be the level thing - go attack mobs way above your level. Your damage gets reduced, your pets doesn't.
Flech should be ok at holding aggro (though not as good as bash) - both would, of course, be better.0 -
Yeah, I'm losing aggro >.<. Quite a bit, actually. Like...every mob >.>.
Don't Seamonsters have pretty low defense, though? That's the reason I wasn't going to train it on the 22+ mobs around Archeosaur...wasn't sure if it'd be twoshotted out there at level 19, since I do seem to have to heal it much more often than my GW :x.
Good to know its damage doesn't get reduced, though. I thought it would, against higher levels. Thanks ^^.0 -
Some advices:
1/first send the pet then attack
2/if you still get aggro : use a lower level weapon
3/dont attack all the time

Seamonster guardians aren't bad pets. Their stat growth is similar to that of an Antelope pup. It should have no trouble handling the monsters outside arch at level 19.0
