Hows the battle pet pack sale working out on other servers?

Here on sanctuary the prices from SoF and PF seem to have risen instead of fallen.
Before sale ppl were selling for 6k and buying at 5.4k. Now ppl are selling for 7k and buying for 6k... doesnt make any sence to me b:surprised

    Hardly made a difference here. Saw people buying them 6k before, still see people buying for 6k.

    Sale means more money for PWE, not cheaper prices. b:chuckle

    On dream it seems to have increased the supply - more catshops selling them - but not really changed the price, still in the 6-8k range.

    Been there, done that. Now both my herc & nix is level 100, except nix is halfway to 101.

    Sale is untill the 12th of March, so why don't u just w8 till gold prices drop again (= when packs are gone) and then buy them via buying gold from ah? I think 300k/gold within the sale isn't too optimistic so 40 silver for average 25 SoF/PF = 4.8k each ergo 48 mil (+ 960k taxes) for a nix/herc.

    The trend I've seen is prices usually only lower after the sale/event.
    During x2, TT mat prices rose and then a few weeks afterwards, fell to ridiculously low prices.
    Then again, PWI economics doesnt adhere to any known laws of anything.

    The sale hasn't started yet.

    Tiger Packs have driven Gold prices up more than the 20% discount of the sale. Thus the current "sale" is worthless.

    However, Tiger Packs will be going off-sale before the Battle Pet Packs do, at which point prices will start to drop. Gold prices may not have time to recover, however, and so the Force/Feather prices may not drop significantly before the sale ends.

    In heavens tear they used to be sold for 7-9k a piece (though people wanted to buy them for 5-7k), now with packs people sell them for 6-8k a piece, when people wants to buy them for (4-6k, there are still players willing to pay 7k :P)

    Prices on Archosaur for Spheres of Force and Phoenix Feathers seem to have risen ~1k each because of the sale...

    Anyway, the sale isn't a good time to buy battle pet packs anyway. Current gold price on Archosaur is around 430k. With the sale, pet packs are 40 silvers. So that means right now pet packs are 172k.

    Assuming that gold prices ever drop back down to the 300k range again, and the pet packs are back at 50 silvers each, then each pet pack would be 150k.

    Of course, the best thing would be for gold price to drop immediately back down to 300k tomorrow, after tiger packs are gone and the pet pack sale is still going on (120k per pet pack), but I wouldn't bet on it.

    You didn't think people made money from Battle Pet Pack sales by selling cheaper did you? Sorry, but that's kinda stupid to think prices would fall.

    Buy gold. Buy packs. Sell SoF and Nix for a higher price to increase profit.

    It's always been that way, and is why the battle pet pack sales used to make a huge, huge amount of money for merchants before the days of packs.

    Basic economics FTW.

    The current market is almost humourous to watch.

    SoF/Nix feather are dependent on Gold prices, and the Tiger Packs are inflating that price more than the 20% sale discount. So anybody actually buying SoF/Nix right now is either impatient or unaware.

    Those who know what's about to happen to Gold prices are waiting until Wednesday or later to get their SoF/Nix. Also, any serious large-scale merchant knows they need to get rid of their stock before tomorrow, because they're about to depreciate in value literally overnight.

    But that leaves a vacuum of SoF/Nix available for sale, which is currently being filled with risk-taking price-gougers who are quite happy to supply rip-off prices to people who don't know any better. So basically, the prices are just kinda silly right now. b:chuckle

    I managed to finally make a herc for my lv80 veno (after playing her for over a year, lol) because of this sale and the determination to finally get one b:laugh

    Only charged $50 twice, plus the bonuses, and managed to get the remaining 8k of SoF that I needed b:thanks

    That's right, I'm only half of a zen junkie b:victory

    Edit: And that was buying the packs outright from the boutique, not selling gold for coins and buying from players.

    If you really want a herc or nix, best wait until packs are gone and buy gold "low". Then be very patient and stock up on pet packs when the pet packs go on sale.

    Do not buy from catshops since those are always overpriced, and avoid sudden urges to buy pet packs if they go on sale while you have no gold/gold prices are high.

    Can't be more basic than that.

    Well I got 50 SOF for 2k each the other day :p Other than that ... the things are overpriced.
    Doesn't matter tho, saves me the hassle to sell my gold and look for deals. Just getting them from the boutique.
