New computer - reinstalation = loss of char?

Recently, my computer stopped working and I had to change it - the question is: if I'll install the PW on it, should I still have my old characters, that I made on the previous comp? Propably it's a terribly stupid question, but apparently my characters have just disappeared during this process and I'm not sure if it was supposed to be like this (I already checked if I've picked the right server).

    You should be fine as long a you pick the right server on the new computer. I had thee same poblem and got a new computer but when I installed, my characters were perfectly fine.

    Everything you do when you have logged in is stored at the PWI Server. that includes all items in inventory, your characters ect.
    As SerenityMare says, just remember to log in at the same server as you did before, and you should be fine.
