Axes won't refine!

I have tried and tried again to refine my HH60 axes. THEY WON"T! The first three times, I failed, and the mirages and refining stones disappeared.. The next time i tried, it told my "Action failed, unable to refine".. Now i have no clue what that means, but i kept my mirages and refining stone... So, i had my friend try. They used refining stones also, and yet again failed twice.. Now, i don't know what the hell is up with those axes, but can someone help me out?

    For anything you refine, there is a chance that they'll get refined, or they will fail. It all just depends on luck. To improve your luck in refining, there are lots of different stones (ex. Dragon orbs) that will make the chances increase, or will even not let the refining lv drop.

    you got very unlucky. It took 12 mirages to get my skelly axes on my BM to +6, which i know is very lucky.

    I understand the chance of failing, but failing 4 or 5 times in a row, everytime using refining stones? then it wouldn't even let me try to refine them today, it just told me action failed... It didn't use the mirages, just told me the action failed... Soo, that isn't a true failed refining... Idk... Maybe I'm just cursed (They aren't even +1 yet..)

    It sometimes depends on the NPC you are refining with.

    Ya, Duke tells you. He is a liar most times but tells the truth a few times. Tried 1k Streams? I got +4 refine straight there. Other days I usually go to Arch elder. It might just be luck. It's my theory because Lost, Ether, and Plume suck all the time when I go and 1k and Arch are always good to me. :/

    Also my friend got +6 refine with no helps from 1k. I stopped at +4 cuz I was afraid to lose it XD T_T

    Refining gear is a Huge money sink in the game, meaning if you fail to refine a said particular item countless times then you will more than likely keep trying to refine. That in turns more money/time spent refining only to fail more times. Which thus PWI profits from it if you use any of their cash shop refining aids. Sure you can just buy gold from AH, but sum1 still has to put gold in the AH to sell. Supply and Demand my friend its so simple. These days its all about making profit.

    A few pointers:

    - If you run out of mirages, you will no longer be able to refine weapons or armour. Also keep in mind, weapons take two mirages per refine, while armour only takes one per refine.

    - Be economical. Refines 1-4 can be done without any refining aids and it's more economical to refine this way, too. Start using your refine aids after +4. There's a huge thread about this somewhere, and while TT60 isn't worth refining beyond +3 TBH, I'd suggest you give it a read for future reference.

    - The Duke has been statistically proven wrong. If he tells you to go to DW Port for better refining chances... the real chances don't change whatsoever. His rumours have been tested by two people now and both confirmed Duke was not reliable and that the refining odds did not change just because Duke mentions an area.

    - Some areas just seem luckier than others. So far, I've only ever refined at Archo, but I should experiment and go about the map. I hear 1K can be good for refining too. -shrugs- This is just hearsay mind you, but it seems every player has their little "lucky place" where they seem to refine better than anywhere else.

    PWI just being cheap yet again.
    Far as I'm concerned, you payed or farmed the mirages to refine something, a refine should never fail...whats a failed refine anyway? Simply PWI ripping you off so you off.

    How bout, "Oh we're sorry, we fail, here's your mirage back. Please try again"
    Or if they insist on it costing hundreds of mirages to refine something up to a decent lvl(+5 or 6), how bout 10 mirages as a reward with Crazy Stones everyday?
    I've played many MMO's both FTP and PTP, never seen a game so cheap of coinage and rewards as PWI....it's shameful. b:scorn

    Just use mirages untill +3, and make sure your Sl is not on as you say it didn't use up mirages?

    In some games, if you fail a refine the item breaks and you lose it permanently.

    PWI is actually not too bad when you consider that you can refine almost anything to +3-+4 without using anything but mirages. +5-+7 is easily doable on Tishas, but don't think you won't need a couple thousand mirages, a hundred or more Tishas and a little luck to +5-+6 a full set of gear. It isn't going to be cheap... but overall a few items will get up there relatively easy, most with a bit of work, and one or two pieces that would have just been cheaper to orb, but in the bigger picture you'll end up saving 40-60% over what it would have cost with orbs.

    Yea, there was a day where i didn't lose mirages, it just told me action failed.. But i have tried refining 10 times.. 8/10 i have used refining aid.. ALL failed... Bugged?

    I used 100mrgs and 3 tien and 2 tisha stones to get my lunar bow to +6.
    The best part is, all of mrgs were quest rewards and tisha/tien stones were reward from tb quest chain b:victory
