Herc VS Glacial Walker?

I'm on my way to get a Herc, but then I started thinking about my other pets and which ones I would get rid of. In the past I heard people say that the Glacial Walker is better than the Crystalline Magmite, so I got one. Now I'm wanting to get a herc but wanted to see a comparison of the Herc and the GW. Does anyone know where I can find a chart online or have personal experience?

nothing compares to herc free pet wise, dont even bother looking. you can expect herc to easily have 2.5-3x more defenses than the walker as you level.

walker on the other hand makes for a wonderful free pet to use in the mean time.

Snowbloom, which used to have charts for all the pets, has gone away.

Ecatomb has some of the stats.

But the short of it is that the golem has lower defence even before the +150% buff the herc has, and has about a thousand fewer hitpoints. The golem does fill a similar role to the herc - but it doesn't do it nearly as well. You need a much higher level golem to tank things on than a herc. (Which puts some of the higher level stuff forever out of the golem's reach)

As an attack pet - the golem is pretty similar - and has three more slots for skills and so can actually do more damage on a single target (reflect means multiple targets can favour the herc). But other pets are more damaging skill.

See, I have lots of pet slots, which means I can have more than just one water, air, and land pet. And so I was planning on keeping some other pets too, unless after hearing a comparison I thought it would be totally useless.

Thanks for the comparison, I was wondering before if the Herc was better before the buffs or not too. Ecatomb is and already was one of my bookmarks but I had already checked there before to see if it had the GW stats, which it still doesn't D=

It WILL be totally useless. Keep it for the looks, but be honest to yourself. Don't try to convince yourself there MIGHT be SOME use for a GW if you got a Herc. Everything a GW can do, a Herc can do better - except for more DD skills, but even then, you'd take a Scorp or DW.

Compared at 83, the herc had about 300 more pdef and mdef, and about a thousand more HP. That was before buffs.

Yes, it's better before the buffs. But the it gets one and a half times as good again.
