Just looking for some second opinions here.
My girlfriend was doing an FB49/51 today, she's a level 52 Veno.
Yeah, pretty low to be doing an FB51, sure. Her squad consisted of a cleric at like level 88, a Wizard at level 90 and a psychic also around the 80-90 area if I remember it right.
Alright, so my girlfriend is pretty much tagging along, being so far down the level spectrum.
I'm sure you can already tell what's wrong with this squad. That's right, no Barb, no BM not even a Herc come oooooooon. Yeah, there's no real 'tank', so the Wizard feels like he should tank. He's a pure mag. Right, wizard gets to be the dedicated tank.
So my girlfriend, nice and helpful veno as she is, offers to lure the monsters in for him. What does he do? Ignore her, run straight in, catch three mobs with and AoE spell and then he dies. His next course of action? Yell at my girlfriend, the friendly level 52 veno. Why? Bramble.
Yeah, I know, 'no bramble on the DDs'. She knows this too. And that's what he was mad at her for... But the thing is, when a wizard feels like he should be dedicated tank, he's no longer DD, he's a tank and should be treated roughly like a barb in terms of defense.
He blames her for his death, because apparently her bramble was keeping 'too much agro on him' when he ran in all gung ho and attracted 3 mobs before anyone was ready. Who was gonna take that agro if not him, the dedicated tank? The cleric or what?
Alright, so tl;dr. My girlfriend offers to lure mobs one by one. Wizzy who's tanking runs in and catches hella agro and dies because it's too much for him. He blames bramble. Oh yeah, bramble was on him when he decided to run away from the whole party, including cleric, to AoE these mobs so he could've prepared for more agro.
Apparently, bramble is a bigger reason for his death than his low HP and phys def, his reckless running away from the whole party including healer, and pulling more mobs at a time than he can handle.
Am I the only one who thinks he's an *******? Seriously?

Um, wow. That's a moron wizard.
A level 90 wizard probably CAN tank 51, with a big cleric backing them up - but not THAT level 90 wizard, obviously.
Edit: Nonetheless, ALWAYS ask if someone wants bramble. Especially in an unusual situation. She's right that in that situation yes she SHOULD bramble the wizard, but finding out ahead of time that the guy is a complete spazz is a good idea...0 -
Wow. I can understand that bramble can be bad but:
1) Wizard was going to have the aggro anyway
2) Bramble helps keeping aggro and deals (very minor) damage
3) Complaining about bramble when you die, instead of complaining about it when it is cast?100% F2P player. Started PW: March 2007, Quit PW: March 2011.

My rule has always been to bramble the melee people such as the tank and bms and well myself >.> Back to the wizard, it IS however to bramble wizards and such if they are to tank so he was in the wrong to even BEGIN to blame your girlfriend for brambling. I had this happen to me just the other day except with 2 barbs, a wiz, cleric, me and an archer. So I brambled the two barbs and myself and we were running through to get to her when all of a sudden somehow the wizard manages to pull all the monsters that we left OUT OF THE WAY then tried to blame me but I never brambled her. (Sorry for the long story that seems to make no sense)
Anyways lesson to be learned...never do FB without a tank(minus people who don't know their classes)....[SIGPIC]http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b158/poop15267/Angel/Perfect World/mariananna.png[/SIGPIC]0 -
You guys are mirroring my sentiments exactly.
Thanks guys, appreciate your opinions.
I wouldn't care so much if it wasn't because my girlfriend is pretty new to the game and it's her first veno so she felt like she really did do something wrong.
I'm not just gonna sit there and let him make her feel bad about herself and doubt herself in her abilities. I've played tons with her before, she's good at luring and she never messed up before, so I think it's pretty ****ty when some arrogant high-level gives her grief for something that was his fault.
My girlfriend is a sweet, helpful girl, usually plays healers but she found it difficult to level her cleric alone so that's why she's doing veno. Totally not cool to yell at her for helping.0 -

I totally agree with you. My little concept is "They only blame others if they fail. They just can't get off their high horse to realize it"
She was only trying to do her job and I've seen A LOT of people quit because of how they've gotten treated. I am sure however that there are some kind people in this game who just laugh (like I do) when they die. (Sorry if it doesn't make sense)[SIGPIC]http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b158/poop15267/Angel/Perfect World/mariananna.png[/SIGPIC]0 -
1) I loled at the story.
2) At level 9x a wiz should have at least a few garnets socketed. I'm not even talking about the expensive stuff either. Beautiful and flawless shards aren't too expensive and 2 or 3 in each piece of armor gives a nice boost to p.def. That combined with stone barrier would have given him a respectable amount of p.def. Fail wiz is fail.
3) At level 90 he doesn't know that the reflect aggro from bramble (in that situation) would be minuscule compared to the aggro from the damage the 8x psychic (hell, and even the veno who brambled him) would deal? Fail high level is fail.*
4) He was the tank. A tank's job is to hold aggro. As such, it's pretty stupid to ***** about having 'too much' aggro. Fail tank is fail.
5) Blaming others for his death when it was clearly his fault? Fail is just fail.
*To be honest, I'm sure he knew it was his fault and the bramble had nothing to do with his death but he probably thought he'd be fine since he's an almighty level 9x and he just tried to save face by passing the blame. This alt has been brought to you by lkurei - Harshlands.

Oke that wizzie is a complete idiot >_>
When in bh I always bramble bm's and barbs. If anyone else wants a bramble.. just ask for it >_>
In fb I bramble bm and barb and then ask who wants a bramble. A friend of mine (cleric) is an agro machine so she usually asks me to bramble her. But in general I don't bramble DD's/healers.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

chiiro, it -is- possible to do a fb49 as a 52 and others at a similar level, just takes longer. But anyways, I agree with Vitenka that the wiz was a moron about this.0

Epic fail wiz.
OMG No one gets it about brambles?? IT DOESN'T GENERATE ENOUGH AGGRO to be blamed for deaths in about 99% of the cases. Wake up.
"I'm a tank! But I don't want brambles I'm a DD! But I'm a tank! But I'm a DD!" Make up your mind.
Iunno if it makes my morning by waking up to such an amount of fail, or makes me annoyed already... I'll have to sleep on that.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

That's kinda weird actually, most people would complain about the cleric not healing even when it's pretty obvious who's fault was (but then again, how many people REALLY acknowledge their stupid mistakes?).
Anyway this is a disgrace to the wizards in PWI. b:sad0 -
bramble lengthens casting time,
That wiz was.... pathetic, to say the least. If he's playing tank then he's gonna have bramble to o what a Tank is supposed to do. Not anyone else's fault if he rushes ahead and gets killed before anyone can heal or support him.0 -
Funny wizzy funny wizzy indeed... if it was on HT tell me his name xD b:laugh[SIGPIC]http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/image.php?type=sigpic&userid=9020987015&dateline=1276198884[/SIGPIC]
No pride, No shame. Thats the name of the game.

Doesnt matter if the wiz has bramble or not if he is tanking. Not like the mobs hit you harder b/c of reflect. Also any 9X should be able to tank fb51 easy, even a squishy wiz - but only if the cleric actually heals. Maybe the cleric was busy using cyclone on mobs instead. You also had a psychic in party that can heal, im guessing he didn't support anything either.
You had 2 classes that can heal so i really have no clue how a 9X can die twice. And blaming it on a 5X veno is just silly.
Seems the problem was the cleric just nuking stuff and the wiz acting rambo without support
O.o Thats what it think.0 -
1) A wizard of level 90 should be able to tank FB51. Also, if he happens to be tanking, Bramble isn't going to kill him, it's going to help him because there are several physical mobs in that dungeon. If he AoEs three mobs, he has aggro anyway.
Basically : that wizard just plain sucks. And possibly the cleric too, because the cleric should have been able to keep him alive.
2) Bramble isn't that bad, actually. You can bramble the entire squad and it shouldn't matter because if everybody does their job properly, the squishies don't take aggro anyway. Bramble does increase aggro on somebody, but it's so damn menial it's hilarious when people scream "OMFG YOU BRAMBLED ME I'M GOING TO DIE IF I GET AGGRO NOW!!!!"
That aside, you should never bramble the casters (besides yourself) unless they specifically ask for it. Not because it's a bad thing to do so (because in honesty, it's not) but because it saves you the headache of dealing with the tards who think bramble seriously affects aggro to the point it's deadly.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
Bottom line: Fail wizard. This is one of the reasons why I do FB's and such with faction members only. This cuts down on the fail players and QQ'ing, even though I have been in squads with factions members who were fail and QQ'd. Some people are just fail in this game, some don't know how to play their class, some need to reroll, and others just need to leave PWI altogether.A troll is one of many unsung internet heroes who are almost entirely misunderstood. Contrary to popular belief, many trolls are actually quite intelligent. Their habitual attacks on forums is usually a result of their awareness of the pretentiousness and excessive self-importance of many forum enthusiasts. As much as people may hate trolls, they are highly effective. Their actions bring much of the stupidity of other forum users out into the great wide open.
You call me a troll... like it's a bad thing. QQ more.

Quite true. Bottom line: that wiz takes horrible and cranks it up to eleven.0
