Psychic or Wiz?

:x I'm going to be "trio"-ing with my sis (cleric), and her friend (barb). Which class is better suited for this group and better at aoe-ing?
Edit: :o also, when you become sage, do you get different quests compared to demon?

    As far as I know veno's have no aoes, which is what I wanted :x

    Venos have 2 AoE's, both quite useful in their own way.

    Wizards have 6 of varying uses.

    Couldn't tell you with psychic.

    My recommendation? Flip a coin.

    Venomancers have 2(3) aoe spells.

    PS: out of my 55 chars i play my 13 venos the most, so i definitly recommend, and even with no herc/nix I am soloing my BH bosses and earn crapload of cash that way

    b:shocked So many chars.. whats the point in having 13 venos?

    On topic: I think I recommend wizard :p I didn't really like my veno or psychic. But if you want to have a good trio with your cleric and barb friends, veno is the right choice for you. Luring for the win :)

    You could do your own research on either class and see what you like.No one here can tell you what to play it is entirely up to you.

    Sage and demon still get some common quest, but sage get sage quest too and demon get demon quest.

    Wizz is good at aoe coz the aoe is permanent, i mean it will keep aoeing until the wizz run out of mp or decide to stop it.

    Psy aoe are good too, they deal big dmg can seal, stun, lower mob accuracy etc. Those aoe skills aren t permanent but can easily and quickly be chained.

    Just one things you have to know is that psy aoe hit only mobs in front of you in a certain radius and range, only aqua canon hit all mobs around the psy, that is where i think a wizz aoe is better coz it deal constantly dmg to all mob around him/her.

    Can you elaborate :o? Will they share most quests, except for cultivation quests or are there quite a bit of quests that are not shared?

    They do not share the same quest early in game you lvl up a psychic on the Island and Wizard way up North.Psychics don't have a Culti 19 quest to do only 9,29 and onwards.I found stating a Psychic easier than starting a Wizard but it was fun starting a Wiz off.

    Wizards are fun, although a bit difficult to begin with, but tend to get easier in the long run. Psychics are rather fun at the beginning, as well as easy, but I'm not sure about endgame psychics.

    He/She meant demon/sage quest b:lipcurl

    Demon and sage culti are different, but you also get some side quest for demon to do in hell for example and sage quest to do in heaven for sage.

    Ok so now that we've got the pedantic stuff out of the way concerning AOE's..

    Psychics have it far easier than wizards early on, mostly because of the enormous amount of dmg they do, plus the bonuses to their spells like knock-backs. They have decent AOE's, but as mentioned a wizard has a constant AOE that will only drop upon manually dropping, running out of mp, or getting interrupted (sleep, stun, or other certain interrupt spells). Playing a wizard until the mid levels (40-60) is quite tough, especially compared to a psychic. Even then, I'm reminded that my wizard far more often than not gets picked to squads (delta, FF) with far more priority than psychics. When doing 2-3 or 3-2 and 3-3 my wizard is also seen as a backup healer. Obviously, a psychic is not useful in these regards. So, understanding both classes perks and limitations would help in deciding.

    Psychic aoe's are pretty decent. I remember when I used to do PQ it was nearly always a psy doing aoe that would win it by a long shot, despite there being wizzies using DB also.

    Wiz aoe is constant, but it still basically nukes every 3 seconds. So, just over three times in a ten second span. I dunno if psys can drop more aoe's in that space on time.

    1)glacial shards: 3sec
    2)sandstorm: 3sec
    A)earth vector: 2sec (needs spark)
    B)or aqua cannon for 3sec (if you are near the targets)

    plan A + plan B -> 17 sec, lets say 18
    so in 18 sec (lvl10 skills):
    psy: 6*basic magic dmg + 1100%weapon dmg + 2*2675 WT + 2*3216 ER + 4518 WT + 3461

    wiz: (dragon's breath, right?)
    6*basic magic dmg + 6*4518

    so in the end the difference is
    wiz: 7347more dmg
    psy: 110% weapon damage
    the lvl74 mold has 579-783 dmg so you get around 6369-8613 dmg

    so, if we add black vodoo and perhaps some soul of vengeance and a spirit blast every two repeats (the psy compo is 17sec so you get 2sec)b:laugh

    on the other hand you'll need 20chi (8spells -> 80 chi, you need 1 spark)
    i think the cool down times will be ok, not really sure however
    neither i'm 100% sure about my calculation confirmation/pointing errors will be welcome

    note: in pq the mobs are fire and metal
