Getting Disconnected on Download...

Ok... well i played this game before and now im trying to download Rising Tide. But, when i try to download, it says "disconnected for server". What does this mean? I mean ive palyed before fine... took a break... and now i cant even get passed 0% download! b:cry

    Is it the client you're trying to download from the PWI-site? Or is it the update files that failes?
    If its update that fails, are you using the launcher automaticly update, or the update-patch-files from the pwi-site?

    Well, I can tell you thats its not slow internet, but yes i am using the client from the PWI site. So, i'm also trying the bit torrent as well... how does that work? like is it a good way for me to download perfect world?

    Bittorrent is a bit of a "know what you're doing" thing, since you might have to setup firewalls or routers as well to make it work at all, or make it work reasonably (Bittorrent is somewhat resilient against incorrect setups, but tends to get down to a crawl). Basically, your BT client needs to be able to connect "to everywhere" on the outside, and outside connections must reach your client (i.e. if you use a "router" of sorts you'll have to forward whatever port your client uses).

    If you're not a regular BT user it probably doesn't make a lot of sense to use it for just one download.

    It is rather unfortunate, but with all that "security" **** out there and people not knowing what they are doing --- your download issues could very well be firewall related, router related, or virus scanner related. I'm assuming that a normal download via browser usually works for you, so if you are using some PW-internal client (installation program, PW updater etc.) then the most likely scenario is a paranoid "personal firewall" blocking the download. You might also want to check whether you're running that program with appropiate privileges (Administrator, usually).

    That is probably my problem since my computer recently got infected with a virus, but now its ok. And also, when i do normally download things it works the first time so yea. That probably is my problem.

    Well, if I have understood you right, you have downloaded and installed the client, but the client cannot connect to the internet to download updates...?

    In that case, Id check the firewall settings to see if the firewall have blocked the internetconnection for the element client.
    What Operating system are you using? And are you using the Windows Firewall, or the firewall that might be built in youre AntiVirus program (f.example Norton Security Suite)..?

    No, I haven't even been able to install it at all, this is because i click to download, i save the file to my computer, and the window to actually download the game pops up, gets to 0% downloaded, and says "disconnected from server". I've left it up sometimes for a long time, and it still continues to try to connect, but doesnt. Also, I do not understand what you mean by "Operating System" and ive allowed my computer to let PWI "work". This is because whenever something my computer doesnt know what it is it asks "Blah blah blah is trying to axcess the internet" and then below it it says "Allow" or "deny". I allow it each time, but i still have this problem. I also tried the bit torrent, but after it downloaded i didnt know where to go afterwards. Thats what im saying.

    hey i have the same problem but i cant figure out wat to do... i tried looking on my firewall with is avast but i couldnt figure out how to unblock it.. can anyone help me?

    if you can get bittorrent to work, it's a VERY good way to download large files; if it ever gets "disconnected" (insofar as that even makes sense, in a torrent download), it'll just reconnect automatically. try it, worst case is it doesn't work for you and you'll be back at square one here.
