Language Translation

We all know the I in PWI stands for International, right? So that means there's people from all over the world that play this game. And that means there's many, many languages that are spoken. Yet, there is no method of translating these other languages, so there are times that this language barrier makes things a bit tricky. So, I feel that PWE should look into making such a translator for this game.

I know online translators usually suck, but I figure something is better than nothing, right?

    I really lyke this idea, there are many timez ppl are asking me for something and i have no earthly idea wut they're saying, so i just say "English, sorry", but there are sum flawz in it

    You know that PWI is located in america right? And that it is therefor an american based game right? And that there are other versions of this game in other parts of the world right?

    I think, if a person can't speak english well enough, they shouldn't play the game at all. How can you play the game if you don't understand anything and others can't understand you? I really hate those people who can't learn the language before they use it. English is the language that's spoken all over the world, so if you want to play PWI (people from different countries play it) you have to speak english well enough.

    You're speaking of kind of an ingame dictionary for some special main languages?

    If so, I'm good with that. Otherwise... PWI has an International in it, but it's actually the american version... so... if people can't speak English that well, they should consider playing on a different game version.

    Ok, i'm going to assume you didn't notice the fact that PWI does an IP-block on alot of places in this world.

    PWI, Perfect World International, is only open to those in NA and EU. Which means the only languages that are spoken, and the majority is english, are:
    1.) English
    2.) French
    3.) Spanish
    4.) Russian

    Those are the only languages you will run into while playing PWI, so learn them and you can play PWI w/o any trouble. Better yet, learn English and you'll never have another problem playing PWI.

    *coughs* The "only" languages? What about dutch, Portuguese, Polish, Czech, Serbian, GERMAN (of course!), etc. etc.??

    "Russian" was the part i was using to do an overview of EU. Mainly because idk all the languages that are spoken within the EU, so i'm not able to accurately state them all.

    Overview? Lol. There aren't that many russian players out here from my point of view... there are rather more ppl from the Netherlands, Germany, etc. . . . Correct me if Im wrong :)

    I don't think that would work very well.
    1. AI technology is not that good yet, you would rather ask for the person to translate.
    2. Even if AI technology is awesome, not like people use proper grammar and spelling to talk in the game, so it would be hard for computer to translate.
    3. Cultural difference between language: an innocent sentence in one language can translate into offensive curse in others. Without the translator the talking person only have to mind her own words, but with the translator she would need to think about all the possible translation. Taking into account cultural difference into the translator is kind of impossible since culture change very fast.

    I did search before posting this. And it was only brought up once. Just once does not count as "countless" to me. Don't assume a person didn't look into who else suggested something just because it may have come up in the past. Something like server transfer and true forms might warrant this response, but something less commonly suggested, like this one does not.

    Answer was "International dasnt mean 'all the world'", so only English allowed. For multi-language u can use European perfect world (perfectworld.ms), Russians have own perfect world (pwonline.ru) too.

    It's been brought up way more times than just once. If you're having problems using the search feature, contact a GM.

    PWI has far more important issues to deal with, like fixing bugs that are months or over a year old (which they don't care about anyway). I know, I know, they will never do that but still...
