Bannable offenses in-game?

Hi, I've heard of a couple of things that are apparently bannable (in the game, not on the forum), but since I've only heard conjecture from random players, I'd like to know if there is a place where we can see a list of all offenses that get a player banned, warned or in some way censured by a GM? I recognize that GM's have the discretion to ban people for pretty much any reason since not all unacceptable behaviours can possibly be covered by the rules, but I'd like to know where to go if I want to know how to stay on the safe side. Thanks!

Basic rule of thumb: If you need to ask yourself whether it's bad or not, you shouldn't do it.
If you disregard what I say because of who I am or because of the contents of what I said, you are a fool.

The big three tend to be as follows:
    -Exploiting bugs
    -Griefing players
-Modding character .INI files for customization.

Luring bosses around is also naughty, but generally speaking it's only the ones with AOE (Jewels, Chin, etc.) that actually **** people off.

Basically, if something makes you stop and think "Hm, I wonder if I should do this?" the answer is likely to be no. Killing mobs that can't fight back, PK'ing where you shouldn't be able to (Cube room 1), or PK'ing repeatedly to prevent game progression (griefing)... stuff people with a working moral compass typically assume to be obvious - and then end up on the bad end of people with broken compasses.

The TOS is pretty comprehensive in helping to answer this question.

    http://www.perfectworld.com/about/terms

It's alot to read, but it contains pretty much every game rule.

Are you just referring to section 11, or are there other rules on that page as well?

I'm curious about the application of this part:
    #
    # (n) Take any action that disrupts the Service or that negatively affects or may prohibit other users from enjoying the Website, the Games or any other aspect of the Service.

I'm guessing that this is what people refer to when they say that you can't, for instance, excessively interfere with someone's ability to complete a quest (if that IS okay then clarify this please - I'm just referring to what people have told me)? Or is there another section I missed that more explicitly lays out some well-known rules (like, PKing in the secret passage not being okay, for example - again if this is not a rule also clarify)?

edit: I want to make it clear that I'm not going to use this thread to complain publicly about anyone or any application of the rules, and that this is just me being curious, and hopefully not a downhill thread waiting to happen.

The last clause is basically "And by the way, if you do anything bad, it will have consequences". Generally, I'd say it's 11.f. that people like to quote:
    # (f) "Stalk," threaten or otherwise harass or cause discomfort to another
If you disregard what I say because of who I am or because of the contents of what I said, you are a fool.

I think you misunderstood - clause (n) is distinct from this part:
    *

PWE may take any actions and impose any penalties we deem necessary to discourage and punish any violation of these terms or any other illegal or inappropriate conduct, all without prior notice or warning. The determination as to whether a violation has occurred and who is responsible for such act is solely within PWE's discretion, and is based on what we deem best for the community and the Website. By using the Website, you agree you will be bound by PWE's determination as to whether a violation has occurred and any penalty we choose to implement.

    Did I misquote something?

Well, if you pick the 11.n. apart, you get "If you disrupt anyone else's service or otherwise affect them in any way that can be perceived negative, we will ban you". That is pretty much equal to "Do anything bad to anyone but yourself and you get banned."
If you disregard what I say because of who I am or because of the contents of what I said, you are a fool.

Ouch, I'd edit that out if I were you. It could count both as advocating the usage of third party programs AND promoting the unofficial servers.

Oh, you're saying that clause (n) is like a residual category for offenses that can't easily be specified like the ones outlined in (a)-(m)? I misunderstood.

I guess my question has been sufficiently answered.

Bannable offenses can be avoided with enough cash thrown at PWE.

Proof: There's a well-known level 100+ archer on my server who swears, uses censor bypasses, lures world bosses to safe zones, and tonight was killing tons of people as soon as they entered the cube. He even admitted to having sold is account and was able to buy it back from PWE. All of these are bannable offenses. Total all of them up and he should have been perma-banned by now. But has he? No. LOL, he even yells at the GM's in World Chat to do their jobs and ban him already.

All of this, and the GM's still wonder why so much hate is directed towards them.

Fact is, the GMs might want to ban him, but the business leaders are telling them no.

That's what everyone else thinks. Let one person get away with murder, and ban everyone else because they won't dump their life savings into the company too. Good job GM's. Keep up the bad work.

Erm, as stated by ElderSig earlier, it's most likely that the GMs want to ban such persons with great desire, since it's their job to, but are possibly being prevented by the higher ups who've officially chosen more dirt-stained income than actually wanting to keep order for the sake of it's decent player base with, less (yet high) income, so that the GMs can keep their jobs. I don't really know for sure, just what I've learned recently due to the whole "Perfect Horn" pandemic in-game.

Lol wait so about making someone uncomfortable or affecting them negatively. . .
what if someone is fully buffed etc. and fighting a boss...
and then someone PKs them, which obviously affects them negatively.
    Can that be banned?

Obviously yes, based on the TOS, but now I'm starting to wonder if that sort of thing even matters at all now =\

They're also failing miserably, needing to merge servers due to low population. In general, letting the players cheat doesnt yield a popular game amongst the masses.

It's licensed, so its legal. But it is run by a separate company & thereby considered to be advertising competition. Thus bad.

Posts have been edited and people have been warned for mentioning any other version than PWI.

I know, however it is the GM's who enforce the rules on the forum and in-game. An official statement on this matter is needed by the GM's.

Apparently not. Hey GM's, why is one person totally immune to the TOS, yet everyone else isn't?

There is an archer on Sanctuary thats immune to the rules, he's done pretty much everything in the ToS and still has an active account. The GM's even give him items for nothing... +12 items.

EDIT: just noticed jenna mentioned him already.
